Lenses are not transplanted. IOL's are good enough that transplants aren't

I thought he was talking about reusing the IOL. I certainly wouldn't want
a used IOL, and I would imagine that the cost of the IOL is insignificant
compared to the cost of the surgery to implant it.

I assume you a mean plastic IOL, not the natural lens.
I have never heard of this. Frankly, the cost of removing the IOL from the
cadaver, cleaning it, sterilizing it, measuring its power and parameters and
refolding it into the delivery tube (if even possible) would far exceed the
cost of a factory new one.
