Glaucoma glare30 Oct 2009 16:10 GMT3
Yesterday, I waited around at a famous eye facility for about four hours
not counting transportation time. During that time, they tried to give
me a visual field test and to photograph my retina even though that had
been done about a month ago at the same facility. At my behest, ...
Color range of rods?30 Oct 2009 15:13 GMT9
Rods are said to detect white or greys, but that is simply the
perception and don't they really detect aqua? I seem to remember they
are optimized for 558nm, and mostly exclude red. But what is the shape
of their response graph (non spikey?), or what is the breadth of

Is it an idea not to respond on this little man.
Is it an idea only to respond if it is absolutely necessary.
I might think every layman, Otis excluded, could recognize this is out

Usefulness of yellow tinted glasses?29 Oct 2009 07:01 GMT1
I gather yellow tinted glasses supress blue images which are harder to
focus. So marksman use them, etc. But there is a natural yellowing in
the protein of eye lenses due to age, so at what age are lightly
tinted (10%) yellow glasses redundant?

Colon cleansing for dummies27 Oct 2009 10:49 GMT2
Hello there colon-cleasing boys and girls,
As you know, toxins from your gastrointestinal tract can cause a

11: A Case of Cataract
By Emily C. Lierman
Second-opinion ODs consider the minus to be high-risk.26 Oct 2009 20:51 GMT3
Subject:  Respect for second-opinion (preventive) optometrists.
I am highly supportive of prevention-minded optometrists -- who don't
support the "party line" that a minus lens is perfect, or even safe.
Here is the HONEST and preventive second-opinion.
What do they call this process...???26 Oct 2009 00:20 GMT10
Is there a name of the process where an optician can figure out the
prescription of a pair of glasses?
Is this hard to do?  Can any optician do it and most importantly, can
it be done with precision and accuracy?

cataract IOLs that transmit UV23 Oct 2009 06:58 GMT28
I found graphs, tables, and primary literature for how much UV is

would block virtually all UV light  (<400 nanometers).
