I gather yellow tinted glasses supress blue images which are harder to focus. So marksman use them, etc. But there is a natural yellowing in the protein of eye lenses due to age, so at what age are lightly tinted (10%) yellow glasses redundant?

Is there a name of the process where an optician can figure out the prescription of a pair of glasses? Is this hard to do? Can any optician do it and most importantly, can it be done with precision and accuracy?
