Electronics is the field of manipulating electrical currents and
voltages using passive and active components that are connected
together to create circuits. Electronic circuits range from a simple
load resistor that converts a current to a voltage, to computer
SemiRimless Frame Lens Choice30 Oct 2008 16:45 GMT4
My prescription is about -6 on both eyes with a slight astigimatism. I
have decided to get a pair of semirimless frame but I can't decide on
the lens. I was thinking of getting Nikon lens but they are plastic
and the salesperson was recommending polycarb lens. What is the

big reduction in sph prescribed - yay!29 Oct 2008 04:06 GMT8
I just had a .75 to 1.0 reduction in my nearsightedness prescribed
(from around -2.5 to a smaller absolute number), and boy do the
resulting glasses give me sharp vision. Partly due to being thinner,
although they did have to increase the cyl by about half a diopter

toric IOL: choose near or distance vision26 Oct 2008 18:07 GMT10
I'm facing cataract surgery and my trusted experienced
opthalmologist asked if I wanted near or far vision as the outcome.
This is an agonizing choice and I'd like your opinion.
All my life I've been nearsighted (with bad astigmatism doc says
I need help in buying bi-focals.23 Oct 2008 22:42 GMT23
I have a lazy eye and so my head is always slightly rotated
a few degrees to the left.
When I order the bifocal progressive lenses this permanent
head position has to be factored into the bi-focal design.
Help!  with a few questions about LENS SIZE...???23 Oct 2008 22:16 GMT3
I've had the same glasses for about 10 years now.  I had 2 pairs of
glasses made at Wal-Mart in 1998.  One for distance, and one for
reading.
Well...  I lost the "distance" glasses and still use the "reading"
New lenses are odd...23 Oct 2008 22:09 GMT3
I lost my glasses and got a new pair.
Comparing them to my safety glasses of the same prescription, I find the new
glasses are clearer both reading and driving; so overall I like them.
But...  when I look down at my dinner plate, it looks like it is tilted away
Lens generator23 Oct 2008 05:22 GMT2
I would like to know why the labs I have talked to so far can't make a
-2.00 trifocal lens with a plano base.
1.5 seems to be the limit.
How to reduce a prescription - Cyl?22 Oct 2008 18:39 GMT1
Forgive the newbie, but a quick question from a curious mind..
(And yes, I know we should ask the optometrist, and will!)
But in the meantime, how exactly does the Cyl measurement in a vision
prescription work, in a relative sense?
Question about color vision22 Oct 2008 05:13 GMT8
I'm not sure if this is the group to ask but I hope that you will point me
in the correct direction if it is not.
Years ago I noticed that while wearing my 2.75 reading glasses I can see the
world clearly but could not focus on the numbers of my blue led alarm clock.
How similar are these cylinder readings on eyeglass prescription?21 Oct 2008 18:42 GMT2
I can't quite make out a value from an optometrist's prescription.
The left eye cylinder reading either says "+0.7" or "+0.75".  Is this
a big deal or nothing to especially worry about either way?
Difference between these 2 scripts?20 Oct 2008 18:31 GMT1
Several months ago, I went for a routine exam (optometrist) and was
given this prescription:
