The Boston web site states that their Boston 7 lens "utilizes innovative technological innovations in basic polymer chemistry to achieve a lens that offers a balance between the effects of low and high dk materials."

| Eyesight and Lifespan | 12 Jul 2008 18:11 GMT | 20 |
I was interested by a recent joke by RT about immortality (he was basically taking the piss out of the biography of Bates that I posted a while ago). He and "Brainy" seemed to find it very funny, but I actually started thinking about it seriously.

| Plasma Treatment | 11 Jul 2008 05:01 GMT | 3 |
I am switching back to RGPs after wearing soft lenses for a year. I have an appointment with my eye doctor tomorrow and he is going to fit me with Boston XO2 lenses. He said that they can be plasma treated to increase wettability and I have some questions about this. Of

Can anybody explain this, and tell me what to do about it? I get double vision. This not the effect of seeing two images, one from each eye. If I look with either the left or right eye individually, I see two clear images, one a bit above the other. Reading normal print at ...

| contacts and the ocean water | 10 Jul 2008 01:37 GMT | 5 |
I tried wearing my contacts in the ocean and swimming and the contacts worked wonderfully. My question is, is it relatively safe to reuse my contacts after I rinse and rub them off with contact cleaning solution, or do they need to be replaced?

| Breathability of Acuvue 1-day Moist Vs. Acuvue Oasys | 09 Jul 2008 07:17 GMT | 1 |
I know Acuvue Oasys lets the eyes have lots of oxygen, but how much oxygen does Acuvue 1-day moist let the eyes have, in comparison. Where do you get the numbers from, also, so I can find out on my own later.

| Scratch on high-index lenses | 06 Jul 2008 16:42 GMT | 2 |
I have acute nearsightedness (-11,-10). On a recent trip the right lens of my high-index eyeglasses were scratched by scissors which were in the same toilet kit. I know that I should have had the glasses in its case and was neglectful. So now the right lens has a light but ...

| Contact Lenses -14.5 | 05 Jul 2008 20:06 GMT | 5 |
I've been wearing a minus 14.5 in my left eye only. I wear Focus Monthly's. Lately, they've become difficult to wear. I found an older -14.0 Precision UV, and that feels great. So, I'm thinking of asking my doctor to change my prescription. I'd like to find out

| Gas Permeable Hard Contacts Scratches | 03 Jul 2008 00:29 GMT | 5 |
When gas permeable hard contacts get scratches. What actually happens to the lens? Can anyone point me to any site with magnified view of a lens surface? I'd like to understand what goes on when polishing is done to "remove" the

| Plus and minus prescriptions | 02 Jul 2008 17:03 GMT | 6 |
I read that plus prescriptions and minus prescriptions are very different in the way they affect people's eyesight. For example, my husband wears a +3 full time, I wear -3. I read that +3 equates to vision without glasses of 20/100 while a -3 is like 20/300. It

| Eye Twitching? | 02 Jul 2008 15:28 GMT | 2 |
I've noticed my eye to be twitching a lot lately. Its only the right eye and the bottom right side is what twitches a whole lot. I'm wondering what I can do to stop this.

Today for the first time I saw many starts on my vision. What is the cause of this? Lasted about 6 to 8 seconds.
