| Vision in my 40s | 21 Jun 2008 19:05 GMT | 2 |
Is it generally the case that as the eye ages it becomes less tolerant of refractive error? My own refractive error is small - minus 2 for each eye - but as I move through my 40s (I'm 46) I find that the blur I could once tolerate at

| Blood Vessels | 17 Jun 2008 16:23 GMT | 43 |
Someone else asked this on another forum, and it made me wonder. When you shine a very strong light like the focused rays of the sun using a burning glass on your sclera, how is it possible that blood vessels can be seen, which are inside the eye, when things from a range of

| What type of contact lense provides the best resolution? | 13 Jun 2008 17:45 GMT | 4 |
I'm 57 years old. I wore Fluroperm 151 lenses 24x7 without problem from 1995 until last year. About 12 months ago, an optometrist recommended that I switch to O2Optix because they are an aspheric lense. He said that I would see better with aspherics because (if I

| Adding a second IOL after cataract surgery? | 08 Jun 2008 23:28 GMT | 3 |
My brother has had cataract surgery done in both eyes, and everything is fine except for one thing. He had requested monovision, but it appears both eyes ended up at essentially perfect distance vision. The doctor says if that's the

| Why do two people see differently with the same prescription? | 08 Jun 2008 18:03 GMT | 15 |
I read that two people with the same prescription might have different standards of vision. I have -2 and -2.50 and feel I see badly without them. My boyfriend is -2.50 and -2.50 and just wears them to drive. Why is that we interpret the same prescription so differently?

| Is it ethical to charge for a wrong diagnosis? | 08 Jun 2008 05:25 GMT | 33 |
Is it ethical to charge for a wrong diagnosis? I was recently diagnosed with Fuchs'. I understand that it is a fairly easy disease to diagnose, but the first two doctors who examined me did not find it. The first thought my problem was cataracts but was not sure and

| Has my eyesight improved? | 07 Jun 2008 06:10 GMT | 1 |
I just had an eye test and learnt that my prescription has gone down. One eye from -2.75 -0.25 x 140 to -2.50 -0.50 x 140. When she put up the chart I couldn't see any of the letters so will this new prescription be okay for me? I'm sure that before I could read the first
