What is a good type of contacts for dry eyes?29 Feb 2008 18:51 GMT6
I used to wear the 1-Day Acuvue lenses.  But by afternoon/evening my
eyes would always feel dry.  So then they came out with the 1-Day
Acuvue Moist lenses, which is supposed to keep your eyes wet all day.
But I haven't really noticed a difference.

i'm coming up to having cataract surgery in the not so distant future,
and so am reading a lot here. It's something I'll have to do eventually,
but it is a scary thing.
other than that, I don't have anything to say.

Question about my contact lenses23 Feb 2008 08:24 GMT9
Two days ago I went to the optometrist to get new contact lenses. I
have not worn contacts in a while but I left off with the Acuvue
Oasys, which were very bothersome. I don't think they were fitted to
my eye properly.

otis has missed the point. i am 63, not a child. i don't want further
surgeries or any other attempt to make the left eye better, as i feel
with the limited vision in the left eye patches, etc would not work. i

Understanding difference between new & old prescriptions22 Feb 2008 00:49 GMT3
Glasses and optics have always intrigued me (should have been an
optometrist) so I'm hoping to get some insight on my prescriptions.

Change in lens power with distance21 Feb 2008 18:27 GMT6
I wonder if someone could help me understand something about glasses.
I am 62, myopic, and don't think I have any accommodation to speak of.
My prescription is about -2,-2.25, averaging in the astigmatism.
When I got my eyes checked, I mentioned that I wanted a special pair
How much does LENS SIZE affect vision....?21 Feb 2008 01:53 GMT2
My dad was asking me about his reading glasses.  His glasses, which
were prescribed about 10 years ago for reading still work great.  He
has no problems reading whatsoever.
His glasses are somewhat big though, or so it seems.  The dimension of
Remove hard water stain from Eye glasses20 Feb 2008 07:09 GMT5
The other week I noticed my eye glasses had dried hard water stains on
them.  This seems to have accumulated over time. My lenses are glass
lenses (not plastic).  I thought that the lens cleaning solution you
get at the optical stores would do the job - that did  not help.  Also
Difference between Acuvue Oasys and Advance?18 Feb 2008 04:23 GMT3
I went for an eye exam 3 days ago, and my doc had me try Oasys lenses.
I used to wear AV2, but after 6 hours, they'd become very
uncomfortable, so I quit wearing them.  The Oasys lenses were comfy
and the vision was great, but I kept having the sensation that the

What questions should I ask?13 Feb 2008 20:04 GMT6
I am going to see an ophthalmologist tomorrow. I have some retinal
problems for which I do not expect further treatment to be useful. I am
using brimonidine and Travatan. I have had lens implants in each eye
because of cataracts. Two other problems are:
