How long before lens capsule becomes cloudy after cataract surgery?26 Oct 2007 13:46 GMT3
A vitamin store printed out information about cataracts for me.  One
statement really caught my attention.  It said that "... For many
people, the lens capsule remaining in the eye after surgery eventually
turns cloudy, causing additional loss of vision."
How Much Can My Eyes Changes?24 Oct 2007 02:51 GMT47
I've been wearing glasses for about 4 1/2 years now.
My first prescription, Jan '03, was
SPH      CYL     AXIS    ADD
-.87    +.25         90       +1.25
High Index 1.70 versus 1.7423 Oct 2007 05:10 GMT1
I was wondering how is possible to recognize the lenses that you got
is 1.70 or 1.74 and be sure that my optician havn't done any mistake
or so ...
I would appreciate any feedback.
eye-tracking equipment23 Oct 2007 01:21 GMT13
Is it possible to track eye movements using ordinary PC camera and
appropriate software or is it necessary to use special hardware ?
Results don't have to be very precise, I need them just for school
researches.
What can increase IOP?22 Oct 2007 20:42 GMT3
What physical motions can increase IOP? Valsalva and lowering the head
relative to the body seem fairly evident, but what other kinds of
motions/efforts could increase the pressure?
Let's say, for example, that I lifted a heavy weight, but NEVER closed
Why Online Games are So Fun21 Oct 2007 15:56 GMT2
After working hard for my money, the least I could do is to have some
online fun. That's what motivates me to keep making money.
I mean supporting welfare parasites and fraudulent government's SSN
program is not exactly motivational. I'd rather deal with more

reading glasses20 Oct 2007 16:50 GMT39
I am only a novice here. I see people with minus prescriptions put them on
just to read - on a train - then when they get off they put them away in the
case. Why would they be prescribed for reading? I thought minus wearers could
see near but not far.  Seems all the wrong way round!
Two New Updates on Avastin vs Lucentis20 Oct 2007 07:07 GMT1
I've had a busy day. Late last night (after watching the Red Sox beat
the Cleveland Indians), I found a new blog entry that discussed the
reasons behind Genentech's decision to cut off compounding pharmacists
from obtaining Avastin. It was written by Dave Hamilton, formerly of
Macular Degeneration20 Oct 2007 02:42 GMT3
My grandfather suffers from macular degeneration and it has
practically robbed him of all vision.  He can make out objects but
that is it.  If I stand directly in front of him he would not know
that it was me.  Me question is does anyone know about any good
Time Perception and Acuity19 Oct 2007 19:36 GMT20
I noticed that when my eyesight is really at its highest peak, when it
is really super sharp, that time seems to slow down and the minutes
feel like they are taking forever to tick by. It reminds me of when I
was very young when the summer holidays seemed like an eternity to
retinal detachment?19 Oct 2007 18:15 GMT8
I am a 62 year old woman.  Yesterday I noticed some small flashes of
light in my left eye.  It only happened when I moved my eyes to the
left and the lights were at the periphery on the left.  Later in the
day I started to notice floaters that looked like I had hair in front
Good News!19 Oct 2007 18:11 GMT35
I saw today a new retina specialist for evaluation of my macular edema and
further treatment.  I prepared a package for him, including my eye history &
notes, OCTs, surgery records and letters form other doctors.  He was
impressed and told me to call him by his first name!
How long will a cataract implant lens last?19 Oct 2007 17:53 GMT4
Plastic generally has a tendency to get yellow and deteriorate with
time.  With current cataract lens technology/materials, how long can
these implanted lenses last?  What is the minimum number of years -
maximum number of years, average?  Can these implanted lenses be
Exercise for 4th cranial nerve paralysis?19 Oct 2007 17:28 GMT1
I've just been diagnosed with 4th cranial nerve paralysis, which
explains the minor double vision I've had for years. The doctor
indicated that my only options were to increase the prisms that I've
had in my eyeglasses for years, or to have corrective eye surgery.
