Losing Faith In Progressive Lenses26 May 2007 18:53 GMT8
My last two prescriptions have been progressive lenses, around 10 years of
wear at least. They were tough to get used to, but I adapted in time.
The first thing with progressives was I found how hard it was to work at a
desktop computer screen. It became worse and worse until I was ...
CR-39 vs. polycarbonate26 May 2007 17:44 GMT1
Is there a rough estimate of thickness and weight savings offered by
polycarbonate lined bifocals over 'normal' (CR-39 I guess)?
I don't have my Rx handy but I think the worst eye is about
"-3.75 with 3 diopters of cylinder" as described to me.

Crizal VS Other Coatings24 May 2007 21:57 GMT1
I think I've had anti-reflective coating for the last 8-10 years at least.
I always assumed it was rather a generic item, but now I see the ads for
Crizal lenses, which I assume refers to the coating.
How many types or brands of AF coatings are there, and are some better than
Buying an Ophthalmoscope24 May 2007 21:28 GMT34
I'm trying to buy an ophthalmoscope as a graduation present for my
girlfriend.  She doesn't have one and I would like it to be a
surprise.  I'm not a medic.
I'm finding it difficult to choose a suitable 'scope.  I'm anxious to
Crystalens, Adaptation and Results24 May 2007 18:52 GMT2
One more time. - (I don't have the time or training to read through and
evaluate a number of technical articles.) - My ophthalmologist has
suggested the Crystalens as providing some degree of accommodation for
my presbyoptic condition. (I'm considering cataract surgery because of ...

"gray-out"?????24 May 2007 11:22 GMT10
Hello
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light about the symptoms I have
been having.  Out of the blue I will feel a little dizzy & all the sounds
around me sound muffled then everything turns to gray. It's like the feeling
Doctors support PREVENTIVE methods -- for free.24 May 2007 05:44 GMT18
You hear the majority opinion, that a negative
refractive STATE of the eye CAN NOT BE PREVENTED.
Do not believe it.
If fact second-opinion professionals (like Bates) do not believe
I have an unusual eye problem24 May 2007 04:20 GMT2
I was hoping that someone who reads this group has a suggestion as to
what it is.  I see double in each of my eyes individually, but not w/
shadows.  Each eye sees several solid objects and from seeing this way
for a long time, I can differetiate where an object is.  My

best-form spheric vs aspheric23 May 2007 20:04 GMT9
I was told by my optician that there would always be a slight benefit
to aspheric lenses.  However, my research seems to indicate that a
true best-form spheric is best.  My question is, If someone has a
prescription filled with a CR-39 lens, would they automatically be
Kaze is a Fake23 May 2007 18:06 GMT10
She is not a 15 yr old girl form Norway.  S/he has been around a lot
longer.  Her/his English is too good and s/he uses American pop-
expressions that nobody but Americans use.  There are many other clues
in his/her emails to support this conclusion.
