Proceeding Into The Profession of Opthalmology31 May 2007 21:39 GMT11
My ambition is to become an ophthalmologist.
I am still in education, so I am wondering, since a lot of people here are
very old and have a lot experience, what would you recommend I should
specialize at? Do you have any regrets from your youth that would have made

Prescription Question (old vs new)31 May 2007 18:55 GMT6
Could someone tell me how the reading portion of my new prescription
compares with the old one in terms of strength?
I had the new prescription made up and was totally unable to read with
the lower portion of the bifocals. Yet I can still read quite well
Revival (and WH Bates, etc) -- Please leave Now.31 May 2007 11:56 GMT2
Please leave now Revival.  Take your 12 year old sibling with you.
And take WH Bates too.  You are polluting this forum and simply
proving to everyone watching that your prevention notions are just BS
and anyone who touts them is little more than an infantile irrational
How to Find the Right Doctor31 May 2007 06:52 GMT28
How can I find out in advance that the doc I am going to visit may be
the right one for my situation and requirements?  Practically, I can't
check them all till I find the right one, so I need to have some
sorting tools before my visit, but I don't know how to find these
Do I Need a Follow Up MRI?31 May 2007 02:30 GMT2
Perhaps best discussed with my doc... But, you may remember last year I
had an MRI in relation to some "blurry" vision I had in which text
appeared to jump out at me from paper...
I occasionally get similar things now, where text will appear a little
Dilation question30 May 2007 23:02 GMT26
Does dilation of your pupils help rest the muscles and therefore rest
your eyes?
I have terrible eye strain and was wondering if I sat in a darkened
room for a few hours would it benefit my eyes in any way?
Light Shed On Revival30 May 2007 19:34 GMT36
A few days ago I posted several direct silly questions to Otis.  They
intended to be silly, however as anticipated Otis never responded to
them.  Instead, a "Revival" soulmate came to the rescue, attacking
me.  At that point nobody knew yet what Revival was all about, but the
Software for Blind30 May 2007 17:46 GMT5
I have a good friend who is blind and losing his hearing. I want to
find a recommendation for a software program for him to enable him to
easily use the computer. He says the one program he knows of reads
every single word on a webpage, which is not what he wants to do.
Retinoscopes & Opthalmoscopes29 May 2007 18:31 GMT8
What is the difference between a Retinoscope and an Opthalmoscope?
Which one is better and more modern?
Or are they the same thing?
Thank-you,
Snellen Chart29 May 2007 12:44 GMT14
Can anybody direct me to a site from which I might print a Snellen Chart
for reading distances?  Probably one in PDF format, so the size of the
type is nicely preserved... but I would welcome whatever is available.
I'm recovering (nicely) from cataract surgery and IOL implant, and ...

A Beautiful Story29 May 2007 00:16 GMT1
The following is an account of a natural vision restoration by
relaxation
treatment. Perhaps it will be of special interest to sufferers of the
hypermetropic eye disorder (including Neil) among our group.-
