I have a prescription around sph -2.50 cyl -1.50 x 105 . I just bought new polycarbonate rimless glasses with rectangular lenses. Material was essilor crizal alize 1.59 . I was a bit disappointed in seeing the thickness of the lenses.

What other factors are used besides corneal curvature, axial length, and present correction needed for distance to achieve a good balance with IOL's when no cataracts are involved but you would like to have a more "normal" balance in correction after surgery?

If a person were very nearsighted and then had his natural lens removed, what sort of vision might he have? Could his eye structure and cornea provide near "normal" distance correction? If not, why not?
