| the care and feeding of RPGs vs soft lenses | 25 Oct 2006 21:54 GMT | 1 |
Do any of you use Saline Solution at all with your RPGs? I always thought Saline Solution was for soft lenses only, and in fact when I looked at the box in the store it only mentions soft lenses. This new optometrist office said something that made me think I am supposed

| RGP residual astigmatism | 25 Oct 2006 14:16 GMT | 11 |
I've got my RGP's dialed in pretty well. The doc "maxed out" the diameter and the OZ and fixed most of the trouble I was having with night vision issues and seeing the edges. The last small complaint I have is that the vision is slightly variable in one eye (tack sharp

| who can explain this visual "disorder" (or mutation)? | 25 Oct 2006 04:04 GMT | 1 |
I have yet to find an answer from eye doctors and psychogists. I will state the symptoms although it is extremely difficult for me to describe. I am 27 and have had this "disorder" for as long as I remember. Well here I go: To my knowledge a "normal" person only has

| How the eye expands and contracts with the plus and minus lens. | 24 Oct 2006 22:16 GMT | 32 |
There are people who insist that a minus has no effect on the refractive STATE of the natural eye. The scientific reality is that it does. Here are the animation graphics of that process.

| Purvision Muliti-Focals, two week report | 24 Oct 2006 22:15 GMT | 1 |
I switched from the B&L Softlens Multi-Focals to B&L Purevision Multi-Focals two weeks ago. Both eyes were corrected for distance vision, no monovision, and the reading power ordered was "high". I have no astigmatism. This has resulted in 20/20 vision and I am able to read

| Refractive STATES of the eye -- kept in the "open". | 24 Oct 2006 21:32 GMT | 5 |
Dear Prevention-minded scientific friends, When I suggested that we use a "plus" to keep your vision clear through the school years -- it was because of the scientific facts.

| Bad Vision | 24 Oct 2006 10:57 GMT | 13 |
When I blink on a night time or against a light background like a cloud the centre of my vision is a roundish black or white dot which disappears after about 2 seconds. I have had a few vision tests by opticians and the eye hospital and they have said my retina and macular

| Strabismus treatment | 24 Oct 2006 06:54 GMT | 34 |
What's the state of affairs in this area? Are there any real and viable non-surgical alternatives? Our son (nearly 8) has had this since very early in life (recognized around 6 months of age). He has absolutely perfect vision with each

| How does a visual field test affect treatment? | 24 Oct 2006 06:18 GMT | 7 |
I have had a number of visual field tests. They have shown that I have significant loss of vision in my left eye from central retinal vein occlusion. Peripheral vision in that eye is good. I have slightly elevated pressure in my right eye. I am supposed to get another visual field ...

| I like migraine aurae, yet I dislike the rest of a migraine. | 24 Oct 2006 02:25 GMT | 4 |
I would like to experience a migraine aura as long as there is nothing but the aura. I've read about the aura and find it both enjoyable and scary. I like the visual symptoms, the dizziness, the numbness, etc. I certainly would *not* want to have the headache phase or the

| Are $1 glasses harmful? | 24 Oct 2006 01:36 GMT | 19 |
My Mum who's in her late sixties stocked up on several pairs of reading and distance glasses at the dollar store. They don't give her perfect vision but she thinks it's crazy to spend hundreds for the difference proper prescription lenses would make.

| Glasses for 5 year-old twins | 23 Oct 2006 13:36 GMT | 65 |
Our twins finally got a 2nd opinion from the opthamologist after being told by an optometrist that they needed glasses. To recap, one of our twins was (under drop, the term used by the opthamologist) -1.50 in each eye, while the other was -2.00 and -2.75.
