Ive heard of people wearing readers over contact lenses but what about distance glasses?31 Oct 2006 17:49 GMT8
Howcome few people think about it? It seems that optometrists and their
patients place too much emphasis on distance vision but if that person
spends most of his time reading or on the computer, wouldnt it be a
better choice to undercorrect with contact lenses to avoid readers and
Prescription increase31 Oct 2006 15:58 GMT14
Hi there, I have a really light prescription 50/50 near sighted on both eyes.
I have heard that wearing glasses for light prescription make it worse - is
this true or it's a myth.  And if I don't start wearing glasses, is it gonna
get worse?  Thanks.
Advice please31 Oct 2006 14:26 GMT11
I went with my husband to his eye test and learnt that his new prescription
will be -2.50. Is it recommended to wear such a prescription full time?

My Favorite Migraine Aura -- A Must Read -- Petrifying yet Pleasureable at the same time!29 Oct 2006 22:29 GMT1
I would like to experience a migraine aura as long as there is nothing
but the aura and the aura is only temporary [approximately 15 minutes
to 6 hours]. I've read about the aura and find it both enjoyable and
scary. I like the visual symptoms, the dizziness, the numbness, etc.
Just What The Doctor Ordered29 Oct 2006 21:33 GMT7
As a long-time sufferer of, first End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) from
the age of 12, and now as a two-time kidney transplant recipient, I
know what a difference the right doctor can make.
This is why I have decided to start an open discussion of what makes a

How to apply hot compress to the eye?29 Oct 2006 18:42 GMT7
I have a tiny sty on the right eyelid. My doc told me to apply hot compress
3 times a day and it should go away. My question: How to apply hot compress?
I have never done that before.
Pupils different sizes29 Oct 2006 06:03 GMT11
This morning I woke up with swollen left eyelids.  Possibly an allergy
thing (I've been at my daughter's house since Saturday with one dog and
two cats who like to sleep in the bed I'm using).  I took a couple of
sudafed-clones and the swelling seems to be subsiding, but I ...

I realize that many regulars here will be distinctly disinterested in
this topic, but I'm trying to figure out just what kind of kook this
guy is, without going back and reading his old messages.
It seems he believes that wearing glasses for myopia can worsen the
more on the Dominant Eye27 Oct 2006 03:12 GMT10
OK, when he gave me the new monovision lens, left for reading, he had me
cover my right eye with this black "spoon" and read the chart.
The only way I could read the chart well with my left eye, was if I closed
the right eye behind the spoon.  If the right eye was left open behind ...
