Do volk lenses block uv? I know that you can buy the yellow patient comfort filter for a lot of the lenses which their website states blocks all wavelengths shorter than 490nm but is the basic lens zero uv transmission?

I recently (last Friday) got contact lenses for the first time, after 21 years of wearing glasses, for myopia. I'm a computer consultant, which largely involves programming, so I'm in front of a monitor for hours every day.

Dear Ace, Charles has every right to expect very, very sharp vision from a minus lens. That is what ODs do.

I went to see optometrist to do my eye exam, but right eye just can't see clearly it seems with correction lenses (he said he doesn't know why), my question is can vision always be corrected by eyeglasses? if not, why?

My Rx is in the -7 range, with astigmatism in the -1 range. My previous toric contacts over the past couple years were Frequency 55 (for one eye) and Soflens 66 (for the other), but both lenses rotated out of place frequently and I wasn't real pleased with them.

In reading previous posts, it seems that many believe that if you avoid the "no rub" multipurpose solutions for cleaning soft hydrogel contact lenses, and use a separate cleaner, it will clean the lenses better and you could possibly prolong the life of your lenses. Do most of ...

We have 5 year-old identical twins who will turn 6 next month. The optometrist checked them 3 years ago and said they needed glasses, but a second opinion from 2 child opthamologists said they could do without glasses.
