ROP question - please help with this diagnosis23 Sep 2006 07:28 GMT10
I'm trying to translate an ROP diagnosis for a baby in Serbia, and am
struggling with one particular word, in quotes below - maybe the
context can give you a clue as to what it might be in English:
Right eye: H 35.1 ROP Stage 4A with transvitreal "organizat"
Dryness with Acuvue 222 Sep 2006 14:52 GMT5
This topic may have been covered before, but I can't find a thread that
matches my case.
I have worn contacts for about 9 years, for which my neither my
prescription nor my contact lens size have changed.  I began with
Contact Lens Tollerance, Dr. G. and others22 Sep 2006 04:10 GMT28
Last time I postet in this group was about 3 years ago.
My problem is that I have high myopia (about 10 diopters and 0.75
astigmatism on both eyes). Thus I prefer to wear contact lenses instead
of glasses. About 6 years ago (at age 24) I lost my contact lens
Oxygen transmission data? (contact lenses)21 Sep 2006 22:34 GMT1
Where can I find a comparison table that shows relative oxygen transmission
levels for various contact lenses? Either by brand or material. A website or
web page would be great.
It seems that more transmission is better, but how important is it?
8 weeks post lasik for hyperopia question21 Sep 2006 05:45 GMT7
It's now 8 weeks since I had lasik for hyperopia.
I realised that I would need reading glasses but was unsure about
middle distance vision.
I have regressed since the op and am at 2 diopters for reading and 1
Getting nowhere with malpractice suit - any ideas?21 Sep 2006 01:02 GMT2
Hey, sorry it's been awhile. The tale of my eye and how Dr. G-----
routed it out during what was supposed to be a routine cataract
surgery, leaving me with a semi-useless blob of jelly in its place, is
familiar to all of you (see archives). But I've been referred to two
New glasses issue20 Sep 2006 17:30 GMT4
I don't know very much about glasses other than what I have read
online. I just got my new lenses and I am not sure if the problem I am
having is me or the glasses. With my old frames, I never had this
issue. I am near sighted and can now see objects further away really
Detached Retina20 Sep 2006 13:23 GMT4
I was diagnosed with a detached retina three weeks after an optometrist
said my eyes were fine. I had an operation in Feb 2006  (a buckle was
attached and a gas bubble was inserted). The surgery was not successful
and I have blurred vision. I have subsequently been told by a surgeon
Sunglasses on are polarized on the wrong axis19 Sep 2006 04:30 GMT5
I understand that polarization reduces glare by filtering out light on one
axis.  Well, I purchased a pair of polarized "clip-ons" and they seem to be
filtering on the wrong axis.  Specifically, when I put them on they do not
reduce glare at all, but if I just hold the lens in ...
Q: contrast for contact lenses?18 Sep 2006 18:58 GMT1
I've been using Proclear Biocompatibles for a couple of years, -2.00/-2.00
recently, my prescription was bumped up to -2.25/-2.25 and I have been
trying out Coopervision Frequency 55s... they seem OK, and I have noticed a
significant increase in contrast with these
Spray paint on contacts18 Sep 2006 16:34 GMT4
I will subject myself to the ridicule of the group and ask my
question...
I did some spray painting today with my RGP lenses in.  I dind't notice
anything until I took the lenses out about 5 hours later.  They are

Wavefront LASIK and surface retreatments are a hoax!17 Sep 2006 23:05 GMT16
Wavefront LASIK and surface retreatments are a hoax. Once you rip up a
flap or remove the epithelium, the wavefront map is no longer
applicable to that eye. No wonder so many patients are made worse by
wavefront retreatments.
Macrolens17 Sep 2006 15:16 GMT3
DrG (or anyone besides Ace):
I went to my new eye doc today for my annual checkup, and to get a
second opinion on my RGP fit.  I mentioned Macrolens, and he said he
had fit them quite a bit a few years ago, but nobody could really wear
choice of near or far vision after surgery?17 Sep 2006 06:28 GMT34
I've been nearsighted since I was about 11 years old. Now at age 54 I
am having cataracts removed from both eyes. The doc says it's common
for people who have been nearsighted all their lives to want an implant
that leaves them a little nearsighted - they still need glasses to
