the results and wore them successfully for up to 30N EW, for a few
Eyes Burning10 Aug 2006 20:13 GMT4
When I put my breathable lenses in today, my eyes started burning like
anything, I don't understand why.  It was as if they were
ultra-sensitive to foreign objects, just today.  I've never really had
such a problem before.  Well, I left the lenses in and let a fan blow
new member10 Aug 2006 19:34 GMT3
Hello All --
I'm a new member, and I have some questions.  There were posts on the
site about one eye being so much worse that the other, and I have that
problem with my eyes, plus others.  According to the doctor my right
Question About Ripping Contacts10 Aug 2006 06:09 GMT2
Im wearing Acuvue Advanced in my left eye and Acuvue Advanced with
Asthigmatism in my right eye.  I have found that many, I would say
maybe 10 of 24, have ripped where I would say only a couple of my AA

Snellen Chart and Minus Diopter10 Aug 2006 02:22 GMT9
Does anyone knows how visual acuity measured with the Snellen Chart
corresponds to a minus diopter?
For instance, what is the diopter for 20/70?
Thanks.
Did any of you know about orthokeratology prior to getting lasik?10 Aug 2006 02:17 GMT12
Orthokeratology as some of you dont know is based on contact lenses.
However the special thing is you insert them in just before going to
sleep then remove them when you wake. You then experience clear vision
anywhere from 8 hours to a whole week, lower corrections last longer

Had Cataract Surgery This Morning10 Aug 2006 00:23 GMT2
I had cataract surgery in my right eye this morning and the result seems
good so far. The only concern is that I see some halo-like reflections on
the left side of a light source. Is this a common symptom after the surgery?
Thanks.
need info.09 Aug 2006 13:41 GMT37
Hi, I just joined this group a few weeks ago. My current prescription
is -5.25 for both eyes.    Is it a very strong prescription?    My
eyesight keeps falling and I think that the doctor will soon tell me
that my eyesight cannot be corrected.   Is it possible?    Thank you.
What does my glasses prescription mean ?09 Aug 2006 02:24 GMT7
I've just had my eyes tested for the first time in years and I've been
told I need reading glasses.  I'm curious to know what the prescription
means,  and it states aas follows :

Presbyopia worse in one eye?08 Aug 2006 20:04 GMT15
I'm a 42 y/o male who developed presbyopia 2 years ago. I have a mild
myopia (-1.00 and -.75). My add prescription is 1.25. When I'm wearing
my glasses, my right eye sees fine for closeup, but my left eye still
seems to need more power. I've searched the internet but can't find

Ocular hypertension: Evaluation of08 Aug 2006 17:15 GMT7
Bausch & Lomb sells the Proview Tonometer for about $100. This kit is easy
to use. Unfortunately, according to reviews it correctly detected IOP > 23
mm in only 4 of 22 cases, and this is the range where accuracy is most
essential.
Multiifocals-Monovision?07 Aug 2006 21:26 GMT15
I was wearing N&Ds monovision for a couple of years. Right: -5.25, and
left: -4.5. (My left eye is actually much more myopic than the right, but it
was undercorrected to be the reading eye.)
I recently had an eye exam. I told the eye doc that I would like to try the
Ocular hypertension07 Aug 2006 04:56 GMT5
Today my IOP levels were 23/30mm, exactly double those of six months ago.
During that six month period, I have been using steroids as a treatment for
CME. (So now I am supposed to refrain from doing this--there are also
NSAIDS.)
