Question re: picking up contacts in store-Ohio26 Aug 2006 22:11 GMT1
I have a question for anyone who may know.
My husband has a valid contact lens scrip from a doc here in Ohio.
Normally, he will go to the vision center at the big store that starts
with a "W" (not sure if I can mention names here, lol) and pick up a
to see floaters more clearly25 Aug 2006 21:58 GMT2
I have been seeing vitreous floaters since age 10. They have gradually
increased - I am 40 now - to a point where they are becoming hard to
ignore. I don't wear glasses and although I haven't actually had an eye
test since school I don't have any trouble reading or suffer from
Vision Tests - Any thoughts?25 Aug 2006 17:29 GMT1
Summary: Tests for Migraine, Optic Nerve, and Retina - electrophysiology.
"Ghost" images merge under bright light, white squares appear blue,
lines start dancing in the strobe light.
Hi,
does my eye exam result make sense?25 Aug 2006 16:31 GMT2
Hi, I wear eyeglasses, which is about 10 years old, I like to get a new
pair, the current eyeglasses work ok, the left eye see quite well, but
the right eye seems can't focus well, if I cover my left eye and look
at computer screen, my right eye can't read the text. I went see a
How much to expect from OD?25 Aug 2006 14:00 GMT8
This is a followup to my thread "I think my OD gave up on me".  The
brief summary is: I asked to try RGP contacts.  The first set back was
pretty good, but they were "low riders" and I got glare from the top
edge of the lens.  Night vision was slightly annoying due to some
Feeling of unsteadiness after  cataract surgery24 Aug 2006 21:33 GMT4
My mother recently underwent cataract surgery in one of her eyes.
After the operation she noticed that she gets a feeling of
unsteadiness, like everyting is moving around her, when she gets up in
the mornings. And this has started only after the cataract surgery.
Blinking Rate vs Closing the Eyes24 Aug 2006 15:01 GMT1
My contact lens optician noted to me that I have some protein
deposition and a rather less than helpful tear viscosity.
He suggests I try blinking more frequently.
I'll try this, but I wonder about closing my eyes every so often.

switching from a lifetime of hard lenses/rpgs to soft lenses with severe myopia23 Aug 2006 23:35 GMT47
I am considering switching to softlenses after a lifetime of hard lenses/RPG.
I am very myopic, although I have always been correctable to perfect enough
vision with my contacts.
Someone in my other (presbyobia) thread said something that got me thinking:
Will ultrasonic cleaner strip lens coatings?23 Aug 2006 20:42 GMT4
I'm considering an ultrasonic cleaner for my eyeglasses, but I'm
worried it might affect my lens coatings.
Contact Lenses Rotating23 Aug 2006 06:33 GMT1
My CLs seem to rotate quite frequently. I thought this would be a
common complaint with toric CLs, but my optician says I'm his first
with this problem.
Rx (Eye test):
Fluorescent light22 Aug 2006 22:44 GMT2
I've read that too much visible blue light may be bad for eyes and that
fluoresecent tubes give out more blue light than traditional incandescent
bulbs.  Is this correct?
My father has wet macular degeneration in one eye
If we dont take Otis and "second opinion" optometrists seriously, we all will be myopic! Near work=myopia!22 Aug 2006 22:17 GMT10
In the U.S., the prevalence of myopia is about 25 percent of the
population, but in Asian countries such as China or Japan it may exceed
70 percent, and it approximates 90 percent in selected populations,
such as Chinese university students.
laser repair glasses.22 Aug 2006 20:46 GMT2
I  want to know how strong laser repair is for eyeglasses. One temple
broke and it's a model not made anymore. My optometrist can't order a
new part. Thanks.
My two night soft contact lens orthoK experience, will try RGP orthoK.22 Aug 2006 19:26 GMT4
By now, you are really wondering how my orthoK went. Keep in mind I
tried a simple verson and type of soft contact lens based orthoK. It
*does* work for some people, improving vision by up to 2 diopters
reduction in myopia. One lady reduced her myopia by a diopter. It is a
