astigmatism problem24 Apr 2006 17:45 GMT7
I get very frustrated when my new glasses arrive and the new
astigmatism perscrition creates a distortion in my vision.  I like my
new near sighted perscription I got with my contacts.  I can see far
away great and I can still read the dash of my truck.  With the new
can 'getting a black eye' increase floaters?24 Apr 2006 16:45 GMT2
I've been troubled with floaters since I was in my late teens (I'm in
my fifties now).
Last Summer a thug punched me in the left eye. The only symptoms then
were the classic 'black eye' - the flesh around the eye was swollen and
2 I.V. bags made my vision crystal clear???24 Apr 2006 13:52 GMT9
OK this was bizarre.  I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
Before being diagnosed I was getting the usual symtpoms: unquentionable
thirst, blurred vision, etc.  The endocrinologist put me on insulin and
metformin and we still had a hard time controlling it, and they ...

Transcleral CycloPhotoCoagulation for glaucoma treatment23 Apr 2006 02:48 GMT3
I would like to have some idea about:
1. What is the frequency of CPC procedures in various parts of the world?
2. If there would be an efficient way to accurately guide the laser to the
ciliary body, and to follow up the cyclophotocoagulation in real time, would
tears plus22 Apr 2006 18:04 GMT5
Hi again,
I'm using a new product  since thursday: tears plus from allergan. It's a
kind of artificial tear for dry eyes. In the beginning it was very smoothing
but the good effects gradually seem to diminish and redness increased and
Contacts - Symptoms of the wrong prescription22 Apr 2006 04:26 GMT15
I have a rather bizarre situation that I've never encountered in my
nearly 20 years of wearing contacts.
For the past two or three years, I've had the same prescription: -3.75
in both eyes.  Recently, I was due for a check-up and went to a new
Can RGPs be marked?22 Apr 2006 04:09 GMT5
Silly question maybe but can one easily have rgp
lenses visibly marked for right/left identification?
I know some soft lenses have markings around
the periphery but they're a lot larger and well out
Stress & Eyesight20 Apr 2006 14:36 GMT13
Over the last 5 years I have go through tremendous stress, so much so that I
have chronic muscle pain and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia - but I
think it is simple stress and activation of the CNS from stress and
exhaustion.

1)      There seems to be a great deal of evidence that primates have widely
differing visual systems.  How is it that you feel so secure in saying that
6 year old with low vision & no diagnosis- I thinink we need an advocate18 Apr 2006 21:30 GMT28
My 6 year old daughter has low vision without a diagnosed cause.  We've
been great about getting her eyes checked yearly since she was a little
over 1 year old.  In a nut shell, here's what's transpired:
Tested slightly farsighted as a baby.
