Lasik with Astigmatism???30 Apr 2006 01:14 GMT5
I am considering having Lasik surgery in the near future.  However,  I
wanted to know how bad was my eyesight.  I got a eye exam and the
results were as follows:
OD:  -225, -175, 015
Of Interest to Prospective LASIK Patients29 Apr 2006 16:12 GMT3
I have just received and read the supplement to the April 2006 issue of
Cataract & Refractive Surgery Today (on the web @ www.crstoday.com) (It
should appear on the web within a week.)
The supplement, entitled: Piecing Together the Laser Vision Correction
BIOMEDICS 55 lens question29 Apr 2006 06:51 GMT2
I had worn a biomedics 55 lens at -5.75 strength.  Since it was too
weak, I went to the optometrist who offered Ia -6.00 which was still
slightly weak.  She said the Biomedics 55 then goes to -6.50 (skipping
-6.25).  This is a 'spheric' lens and it's good, but I find it almost a
Artificial Iris/Pupil Contact Lens29 Apr 2006 04:04 GMT9
My mother has a damaged iris that is full (beyond full compared to the
other eye) open at all times.  (It is also somewhat off round since her
cataract surgery.)  This seems to be causing her extreme "glare" problems
which she finds very disturbing.  Prior to the cataract surgery ...
ReNu contact solution and eye infection dangers29 Apr 2006 03:56 GMT2
It seems that there is a concern about the Bausch and Lomb eye contact
solution ReNu causing bacterial eye infections. These infections can be
quite severe and lead to permanent damage or even loss of sight. If you

corneal neovascularization28 Apr 2006 23:16 GMT5
I am currently dealing with a situation that a few people might have
had experience with themselves.  If so, I would love some feedback as I
am up the proverbial river with this one.
About a year ago, I was diagnosed with blepharitis in both eyes.

Prescription increase28 Apr 2006 21:20 GMT11
This weekend I had an eye test that showed my prescription needs to be
changed from -2.25 left and right eyes to -2.25 left and -3 right.
My question is this – till now I have worn glasses just part time but this
seems a strong prescription for my right eye, will part time still be ...
New addition to the family27 Apr 2006 17:23 GMT6
Ladies and Gentlemen ... it's a pinguecula ... right?
Just gazing in awe at my wife's brown eyes yesterday, when ol'
wildly-hyperopic Neil spotted something.  Pulled out Ye Olde 8x Agfa
Lupe and noted this thing ... at about 9 o'clock on her right eye.
New to contact lenses27 Apr 2006 13:55 GMT4
After wearing glasses for over 20 years I have decided to go the
contact lens route. Overall I was able to adapt to my contact lenses
within a few minutes and I was able to wear them for about 6 hours
before my eyes felt a bit worn out.
Trifocal segment powers & distances27 Apr 2006 13:49 GMT6
I've never seen the diopters of power for the middle segment written
on any of my trifocal prescriptions.  So I'm assuming that the middle
segment power is derived from the upper and lower segment power
somehow.
pain in blind eye26 Apr 2006 17:32 GMT15
According to a doctor I saw today, pain in a blind eye is common. It's the
first I ever heard of it. Anyone here ever heard this? Is there an
explanation, is it like phantompain in amputated limbs?
