LASIK and the Astronomer11 Aug 2005 14:53 GMT1
Any astronomer contemplating LASIK eye surgery must read the latest
issue of "SKY and TELESCOPE" magazine for the most detailed article I've
seen on this subject: "LASIK EYE SURGERY for the Amateur Astronomer". It
doesn't just apply to amateur astronomers as this magazine is read ...

Eyes Suddenly Diverged10 Aug 2005 16:02 GMT11
The other day, I noticed that after rubbing my eyes, my vision suddenly
diverged.  I thought it was temporary, but since then when I look
straight up or up to the right, my vision diverges vertically, the
higher I look up the more it diverges.  Since it occurred suddenly, I
MSNBC said polarized lenses do not block UV rays09 Aug 2005 21:03 GMT9
MSNBC said polarized lenses do not block UV rays. They did a survey in which
inexpensive sunglasses, down to $2, all blocked at least 99% of the UV rays.
I checked with a few web sites and they sell polarized sunglasses that also
do UVA and UVB blocking. Should I assume that ...

Hallo to all, I see the old marpions are still here, so to speak, and
are stable in their practice, so far so good for them.
Now I had the opportunity to work for several hours with two very nice
young Italian ladies who are overcoming their own myopia by rest

Acuvue Advance for astigmatism and hyperopia08 Aug 2005 03:30 GMT1
I just got a trial pair of these. I was using the plain plus Acuvue Advance
and my vision was not bad, but a little unstable in terms of consistently
remaining clear. These give better vision because they correct my
astigmatism too. But, I have noticed a few things with this ...
Floaters due to Postural hypotension07 Aug 2005 18:51 GMT37
I'm a 17 year old male floater sufferer. Heres my story:
I was watching an educational videotape for about 3-4 hours non-stop, lying
down on the couch, with my head up, like this:
________/  (my head is the slash, and the ___'s are my legs and body)
RGP contact lens prescription question07 Aug 2005 14:59 GMT6
I am very near-sighted - -10.75 R, -8.25 L.  Before I went in for my
annual exam last week, my L lens prescription was -9.25.  In the exam, I
could see only 20/40 with my L lens.  So the doctor changed the
prescription to -8.25.  Now I am confused.  If my eyes got worse,
teaching student with ocular albinism and Pervasive Developmental D/O06 Aug 2005 21:52 GMT2
I teach at a small, non-profit, alternative school with a student with
ocular albinism and pervasive developmental disorder. I am researching
teaching methods to more effectively present academic material to her.
Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
eyeglass frames06 Aug 2005 00:30 GMT7
OK, here I am again. I am having too much trouble with all the
choices/decisions involved with selecting a new frame. I've never been
one to care much for designer labels. Nowadays everything is designer,
including frames. So my question is: are these frames really better

I got setup with contact lenses 6 months ago but gave up on them after
a brief while because they were murder to remove from my eyes.  When I
try to pull them off my cornea they stretch like a rubber band and feel
like they are going to pull my eye out. This is true whether I wear
