| Thanks so much! | 16 Aug 2005 23:49 GMT | 9 |
I've been reading this group for awhile, and found much good information. I've learned a lot about the eye and eye problems. I've had cataract in both eyes, severy myopia in both eyes, and a retinal detachment in the right eye about 10 years ago.

| Fell asleep (4hrs) in Focus Dailies. Warning signs of infection etc? | 16 Aug 2005 15:30 GMT | 2 |
I fell asleep for 3 or 4 hours in Focus Dailies yesterday evening. What's the oxygen permeability of these lenses when dry? Should I get away with it? Eyes seem ok this morning, a bit bloodshot beneath the lids... Not sore

| Plus lens questions | 16 Aug 2005 03:47 GMT | 9 |
What is the difference, technically, between a reading plus lens and distance plus lens in prescriptions? A +2.00 is written the same whether for distance or reading yet they are not the same, so how is the distinction made? If no notation is made that they are reading

| Hard (hot MgF2?) AR coatings on glass in Los Angeles? | 16 Aug 2005 02:08 GMT | 5 |
I have just ordered a pair of uncoated glass eyeglasses. From what I can tell, it is very difficult or impossible to find a Los Angeles supplier of hot deposited quarter-wave magnesium fluoride coatings on glass. Does anyone have a suggestion along those lines? Does anyone have a ...

| undercorrecting vision | 15 Aug 2005 03:55 GMT | 2 |
I'm wearing Focus Night and Day lenses on a daily wear basis. I have monovision. My eyes are about the same but I wear -2.50 and -4.00. I found it a bit uncomfortable when I moved from -3.75 to -4.00 but I adapted to it. Now it's feeling uncomfortable again - particulary when ...

| Polycarbonate vs. regular/plastic lenses | 13 Aug 2005 14:38 GMT | 15 |
I posted previously about the difficulty I'm having adapting to my new lenses. It also occured to me that I was never really all that happy with my last pair either, even though I wore them for two years. Thing is, that last pair is when I first switched to polycarbonate. At the ...

| How to keep these glasses from flying off my face! | 12 Aug 2005 15:21 GMT | 7 |
I have a pair of glasses that normally fit snugly enough, but once they get a little sweat on them during sports I can't keep them on my face. I'd rather not use a band that attaches to the earpieces and wraps around the head. The ideal would be earpieces that curl around the ...

| How do you put in toric lenses? | 11 Aug 2005 23:04 GMT | 4 |
I've been trying for the past half hour to get a Sunsoft Toric 15.0 lens into my left eye. I've been wearing various daily wear spherical soft lenses for about 20 years, and usually can put in a contact lens with my eyes closed (well, you know). But this toric lens is something

I'm posting this for a friend. He's a very talented artist, and has been told that he may well soon go blind from advanced glaucoma. He's now 55 years old. He was first diagnosed with glaucoma in his mid-20's but did nothing about it until his mid-40's, when he first began to
