| Self-measuring P.D.s | 25 Aug 2005 14:00 GMT | 9 |
Anyone have a good method of self-measuring P.D.s? I'm talking binocular as opposed to monocular, and accuracy to within +- 2 mm or so would be acceptible. I'm looking for something that is quick, easy, doesn't cost much, and could be sent through the mail. I sometimes get ...

| Giant papillary conjunctivitis with DAILY lenses | 24 Aug 2005 22:41 GMT | 5 |
I wore contact lenses for a couple of months in my right eye before developing irritations which I later found to be GPC. The left eye, however, didnt develop such problems and I kept using daily contacts in that eye while I had LASIK on the right. The LASIK procedure wasn't

| "Shimmering" after vitrectomy | 23 Aug 2005 20:23 GMT | 1 |
I had a pars-plana vitrectomy in the OD five days ago. This is not my first such operation, the OS having been vitrectomized in 2003. (There were no medical indications for this, but the doctor wanted to put an IOL in the posterior chamber, and the vitreous was in the way.)

| 1.8 / 1.9 high-index glass lenses | 23 Aug 2005 18:28 GMT | 1 |
I have strong myopia (about -6.00) and "moderate" astigmatism (sorry, I can't remember the number). By choosing small frames and 1.7 high-index lenses, I've been able to wear glasses that look good. Any other type of lens, including polycarbonate, results in Coke-bottle lenses.

| Myopia - is my situation weird or what ??? | 22 Aug 2005 19:00 GMT | 110 |
I'm not sure if this is the right forum to write this, but using deja-news I saw some debates of myopia here. Anyway, my story is this: Me and my twin brother finished the army when we were 21 (you'll

| Pigment clumping | 22 Aug 2005 18:17 GMT | 10 |
My optometrist recently told me I had pigment clumping on and around my macula in the left eye. I am 45 years old with a history of retinal problems. Over twenty years ago, I had a retinal detachment repaired with a buckle. This caused a cataract, which was removed 10 years ago. ...

I just started wearing annual replacement soft lenses (I believe they are manufactured by Optech). Since these lenses were expensive and need to last a year, I want to use the best system to get the most life out of them as possible, which

| Acuity measurements | 22 Aug 2005 03:59 GMT | 18 |

| is this a floater? | 22 Aug 2005 00:44 GMT | 5 |
I have a circle right in the center of my eye. It takes up about 10% of my vision. The funny thing is is that it blurs my vision in that eye except right in the very middle of the "floater". If I close my eyes, I can see the thing, it's very colorful, which I would assume is just ...
