Hi I have just started a trial of daily throw awayable soft contact
lenses.
Before this I had Monthly ones and only used them a few times a week,

This is something I am not considering: the insertion of a needle into the
eye to displace a cataract. Nevertheless, in poor countries it continues
to be practiced, and the results are better than I would have guessed. A
follow-up study appears below:
Best Lens Implant Options for Softball13 Jul 2005 00:24 GMT3
When I retire in a year or so I plan to resume playing in an adult
softball league.  In the meantime, I'm getting to the point when I need
to take care of the cataract in my right eye.  I'm not sure what the
best option is for me given my desire for an active lifestyle,
Will +0.75 astigmatism require toric lenses?12 Jul 2005 18:11 GMT3
Could someone let me know if the astigmatism indicated in the following
prescription will definitely require a toric lense, or may it be
possible to trial normal contacts? Cylinder is +0.75 in both eyes. I've
googled around and the only info I could find  was that -0.75 is
Explant IOL because of Wrong power?11 Jul 2005 19:44 GMT24
My cataract surgery went okay, slight edema that cleared up.  But now,
after 2 weeks, I noticed that I appear to be hyperopic by about 0.5
diopter in right eye. When I looked at the laser IOLMaster measurement
report taken two years prior to surgery (Doc said I didn't need a newer

Choosing a contact lens11 Jul 2005 02:15 GMT19
Many people on this list have chosen a contact lens, but the context in
which I'm doing it may be interesting. I have had a cataract operation in
the left eye, but may postpone an operation on the other for two or three
months.
Replacement nosepads?10 Jul 2005 22:30 GMT2
Is it possible to order exact "original equipment" replacement nosepads?
I have 2 different frames that need replacements - both Marchon Flexons.
The optician in the optometrist office where I bought them only offered generic nosepads that matched neither the size or texture of the ...

The surgery took 70 minutes and had no complications. I asked the
"Visual confusion" after cataract operation??09 Jul 2005 08:04 GMT24
If anyone can help, thank you in advance. I had a cataract removed from my
left eye almost 1 month ago. The cataract developed over a few months, so
this was a shock. Since I've worn contact lenses for years, and just turned
40 and never needed reading glasses, my doctor and I ...
Acuvue Advance - flatter base curve needed?09 Jul 2005 00:36 GMT4
I went for my annual eye exam and CL fitting this morning.  Last
year I asked about Acuvue Advance, but J&J didn't have the -6.50
power I needed.  I've been using a combination of Acuvue 2 (8.3 BC,
14.0) along with Ciba Focus N&D (8.4 BC, 13.8).  Given that the
IOL diplopia cause/cure?08 Jul 2005 20:08 GMT7
Ahhh, my poor left eye - first it was hyperopic and I disliked contact
lenses, so I had a Staar ICL put in ... which had zero vault and the eye
got a cataract. (Same thing on the right eye, but haven't had that
treated yet) Doctor removed ICL and crytalline lense, put in normal
Photoreceptors and sensitivity08 Jul 2005 04:09 GMT12
Dear forum,
can someone explain me the reason why the rods and cones in our eyes do
differ in their sensitivity to light ? Is this due to chemical
differences in the visual purple that they contain or does the shape
Toric contact lenses for dry eyes?08 Jul 2005 03:52 GMT1
I have fairly dry eyes but have had great luck with the Focus N&D's and
the Aquify solution. However, I do need the toric lenses for my
astigmatism. I've tried the Acuvue Advanced but after about 4 hours they
dried out horribly no matter how many drops I put in. With the N&D's I
