Messed up with Eyeglass Selection, options?30 Jun 2005 16:21 GMT7
This is my 2nd pair of eyeglasses from the same optical shop, connected
with my eye doctor. I normally wear a children's frame, as I have a
small, long face. I don't have my current prescription, but I'm
nearsighed and have around a -625 as the reading in both eyes with a
Online ordering of eyeglasses30 Jun 2005 16:18 GMT8
What is the best source of eyeglasses over the internet?  I am looking
for a very thin lense for a ~-5.0 diopter single vision correction.  I
want a really thin lense, maybe glass, if that is the way to go.
Thanks

Torics for this Prescription29 Jun 2005 15:22 GMT3
I have googled quite a bit to see what can be found about the
appropriateness of toric contact lenses for prescriptions like mine.  I
have tentatively concluded I might not be a good match...but I figure

question about vision problems29 Jun 2005 15:20 GMT2
Okay, the last 2-3 months my eyes have been really watery so I tend to
thought it was just allergy symptoms cause it rained a lot the last few
months where I live. Yesterday I noticed in my left eye there was a
slight white spot and when I looked into light with just that eye or at

Is VD or other bacteria as readily transmitted by LASIK as it is to newborns?28 Jun 2005 17:56 GMT1
Without 100% sterilization of all things that touch the eye or could
even pass it between patients, it makes sense anything passing from
mother to newborn can just as readily be transmitted by eye surgery.
If CJD can be transmitted readily then this just makes sense.  With
Lense making28 Jun 2005 06:45 GMT39

IOL ID card27 Jun 2005 22:08 GMT13
I had an inquiry from a person who's surgeon didn't think she needed to
know what IOL was put in her eye.  Didn't it used to be the rule to give
patients an IOL ID card so that if there ever were a recall or problem
that people would know what they had?  What happened to that ...

As far as I understand, Biomedics Toric exists in the market for about
4 years.
Recently, Ocular Sciences was purchased by Coopervision, and (thus?)
its Biomedics55 lens have had some changes in the design, edge in
Best daily contacts for people who hate contacts?27 Jun 2005 04:42 GMT5
Hi, this is my first post, so I apologize if this is not the proper
forum for my question...
I have been attempting to wear contacts on and off for the past 6
years.  However, I always give up within a month because I find the

Curiosity about disposable contacts26 Jun 2005 18:37 GMT2
Why some contact lenses (Biomedics 55, Soflens 66...) are sold as 2
weeks disposable lenses in the USA while they are sold as monthly
disposable in Europe? It seems that they have the same
thickness/composition...
My friend's eyesight healed after losing his glasses26 Jun 2005 18:05 GMT13
I forgot about this miracle.  I met someone named Steven Chai in 10th
grade.  In 11th grade he told me that he lost his glasses after having
been through three pairs.  He didn't have glasses for 2 months.  When
the doctor measured his eyes, they found that his vision was better
