Silhouette and trivex lenses - question about optics vs. normal lenses09 May 2005 16:08 GMT7
I just picked up some Silhouette rimless glasses with trivex lenses and
I am having a hard time adjusting to the optics. I thought the drill
mounts might take some getting used to but it's been the poor optics
that have confounded me. My question is, should I be able to notice a
Storing RGP lenses.09 May 2005 14:34 GMT2
I've got a spare RGP lens that I would like to keep for emergencies and
from searching past posts I believe the best method is to store the lens
dry.  Once I have thoroughly cleaned & soaked the lens in the normal
way, would it be ok to use a fan or a hair dryer to blow dry the ...

I suffer from hyperopia and astigmatism (OD +3.00 -4.00, OS +2.00
-3.00, no lazy eye), and recently had eye muscle surgery to correct the
partially accommodative esotropia I've had for over twenty years (since
the age of two).

AZOOR - a rare condition!?08 May 2005 01:18 GMT2
I have a grilfriend whose name is Nancy.  About a month ago she woke up
to find that she could not see well enough to put on her makeup.  Upon
examination, she realized that she had a blind spot in her left eye
that obstructed a good portion of her vision.  Then within two weeks,
OD's vs Others07 May 2005 18:53 GMT12
I find it quite fascinating that there is such a debate between licensed
practitioners and those not licensed. This is my observation so far:
1. Licensed individuals in this forum are engaging in a vigorous defense of
their practice.

I have a problem of recurrent corneal erosion that requires me to lubricate
my right eye before I go to bed.  The product that worked best for me was
Genteal Lubricant Eye Gel, made by Novartis, but it appears they no longer
make it, as I can't find it at local drug stores and it ...
dark spot06 May 2005 19:35 GMT6
From time to time I get a tiny dark spot in my vision. They are only
visible if a squint or look at a bright light. A spot will appear and
last up to a week or so then disappear. The optician I went to said it
was debris in my eye. However, I thought that 'floaters' were supposed

It may startle some people who have claimed that I have no interest in
myopia prevention, but on my web site is the following article that I

Reflections and glare after cataract operation05 May 2005 18:08 GMT6
My sister had a cataract removed about a month ago by her local
ophthalmologist and the implant lens left her more nearsighted than
she had planned on, probably due to an error in measuring the eye
length. She went to a specialist group in Boston and had the operation
iridology - whats this in my eye??05 May 2005 16:33 GMT4
I would be interested if any one with some iridology experience could
