| QUESTION: Is this eye pain something to worry about? | 26 May 2005 06:36 GMT | 5 |
Hello all. I would appreciate any information you could provide me with regarding a problem that has been bothering me for a while now. It's been maybe 2 months since I have noticed that my left eye (only the left) hurts during the early morning hours, or during the night. It

| I'm only 30 - Will I ever get my vision back? | 26 May 2005 05:58 GMT | 2 |
I am a 31 year old woman who recently had carotid stenting on my right side due to a narrowed and ulcerated carotid. That, however, isn't why I'm posting here. I had three episodes of ocular emboli lodge in my eye. One right off the ocular disk and the other two were further down

| LASIK and flight | 26 May 2005 04:00 GMT | 2 |
Back in the bad old days of RK patients were told not to fly on commercial airliners for some period after having the procedure done. Presumably this was because pressure changes in the aircraft cabin would adversely affect the healing process.

| Got contacts for the first time, questions. | 26 May 2005 00:36 GMT | 18 |
I just got contacts, I am nearsighted, just a little bit the doctor said. Before the contacts my vision tested at 20/30, then once they put them in I read the lines and my vision was 20/10. Then we took them out and they let me put them back in so I could practice. After

| Glasses by intnl mail order? | 25 May 2005 18:57 GMT | 3 |
Is there any foreign place that will mail order glasses into the US? I want to write my own prescription but archaic rules won't let me do this within US. Willing to take risk of misfitting frames, wrong prescription, etc.

| Eyes not moving with head? | 25 May 2005 18:33 GMT | 6 |
Hi ... This is hard to explain - I don't have the right words. I feel like when I move my head, my eyes are slow to follow. The result is really that I feel very dizzy and nauseated and have a hard time

| I'm bummed | 25 May 2005 07:53 GMT | 6 |
I have finally realized what "limited range of correction" means when y'all are talking about the O2o and the Acuvue Advance Torics. Neither one comes close to providing me with enough spherical correction on the left; the O2o would probably correct my right eye,

| About LASIK... | 24 May 2005 16:33 GMT | 10 |
I am wondering if I can get my wife LASIK in the Army, I assume there would be awaiting list, but I have a few questions about it, what are the minimum and maximum refraction error limits to be a candidate for LASIK? Age requirements?

| New prescription problems | 23 May 2005 23:00 GMT | 9 |
After six years with the same contact lenses prescription (-3.75 in each eye), my doctor changed my prescription to -4.00. I wasn't surprised, as I had noticed my distance vision wasn't quite as sharp as it probably should have been.

| Question about prolonged fogginess after cataract surgery | 22 May 2005 19:22 GMT | 4 |
My father, age 68, had cataract removal surgery about ten days ago. (The official name of the procedure was 'cataract removal and implantanion of intraocular lens'.) Since then, the vision in the operated eye improved somewhat for a while, but never quite recovered

| Have requirements changed for lasik? | 21 May 2005 19:43 GMT | 5 |
Doctors, do you think that restrictions for lasik have been tightened in the last 5 years or so? I'd be interested in your discussion. One example that I notice now is that the upper limit for lasik may be lower than it was several years ago. I used to read about "taking up

| A little survey about halo in LASIK | 21 May 2005 12:22 GMT | 46 |
I don't know if this is going to get reliable results, but I'll try anyway. I do hope that there will be many truthful and accurate answers. If you had LASIK (or other refractive surgery, but mention about it if it's other than LASIK), you are most welcome to participate in this ...

A recent study from the University of Manchester of patients who were admitted with eye problems associated with contact lens wear found that those who were wearing silicone-hydrogel lenses had five times less risk.

| YAG procedure for capsular opacification | 21 May 2005 02:01 GMT | 8 |
Doctors - is it true that the YAG procedure after cataract surgery runs the risk of retinal detachment ? I'm approximately 5 mos post-op, and have signs of a secondary cataract. My eye doc is very conservative and says not to do the procedure until it is necessary (affecting the

| Cataract Surgery yesterday | 20 May 2005 04:44 GMT | 13 |
What is fogginess after a cataract operation? And how come we're photo-sensitive afterwards? Yesterday I had cataract surgery at my local public hospital. It was performed under the New Zealand free public health service, and was rather an excellent
