1 day celestial navigation?28 Apr 2005 16:28 GMT30
Can this be our Otis Brown?   I ran across this book, written by one
Otis S. Brown.  A sailor?  How about that.  I'm a sailor too, although I
must admit to using a GPS more than a sextant. So we have astrologers
AND celestial navigators here?

Acuvue Contacts Causing Irritation in Sclera - Help Picking New Brand27 Apr 2005 19:00 GMT3
I had been using Surevue's without a problem for years.  The old box says
they're BC 8.8; DIA 14; -3.25; 2006/10.. maybe that's the exp.  I don't have
the info for the Acuvue's handy.
Anyway, I guess they discontinued Surevue's, so my optometrist started
Floaters caused by light?27 Apr 2005 12:56 GMT1
I had the appearance of the first floaters a few years ago. I first
noticed them in a sunny environment in summer at the end of a few weeks
I spent at the open air (usually I stay in house most of my time).
Ophtalmologist says "vitreous degeneration". I was 25.

My current prescription is -5.25 for both eyes.    Is it a very strong
prescription?    My eyesight keeps falling and I think that the doctor
will soon tell me that my eyesight cannot be corrected.   Is it
possible?    Thank you.

Quesion about power -5.25 for contacts27 Apr 2005 07:28 GMT10
I'm wondering what sort of differences I would see between -5.00 and

Lasik vs. PRELEX27 Apr 2005 03:22 GMT6
I went to a doctor yesterday to discuss lasik, & he steered me toward
Prelex implanted lenses.  He does both (as well as botox & laser
dermabrasion: is that normal for an ophthalmologist's office?).  His
credentials seem impecable & he's been a surgeon for about 40 years
Lasik - starbursting effect26 Apr 2005 22:51 GMT4
What actually is the source of the "starbursting" and "halo" visual effects
often encountered after LASIK surgery ? The damage done by the laser ?
Increased eye pressure ? And will they eventually go away ?
