Are contact lenses suitable for me?26 Feb 2005 00:09 GMT3
Recently I went to the optician and was told my long distance eyesight was
not so good but my near vision is fine.  I don't like glasses so that's not
an option.
I forgot to ask the optician this but I was wondering are contact lenses
Macular hole surgery - will it stop the problem from getting worse?25 Feb 2005 20:00 GMT14
I am still in a dilemma as to whether to have surgery for my macular hole.
I understand that there is a good chance that it will improve my vision by a
reasonable amount, though it will not completely solve the problem. If  I
was unlucky, and did not gain any significant improvement ...

Are there any treatments to reduce the side effects?

Dear Friends,
Since RM posts "blasts" against vision scientists
like Dr. Francis Young, I hardly judge
it is worth it to respond -- since

question on IOL (after cataract surgery)24 Feb 2005 19:41 GMT5
Might be a silly question, but - is everyone's -1.50 vision the same? I
had cataract surgery, and it resulted in -1.50, so my intermediate
vision is very good, but distance is very blurry.  However, I've spoken
to people who have that vision and are able to drive. I would NEVER
Would I be a good canditate for contacts?24 Feb 2005 18:20 GMT3
I am considering trying contacts again after a 17 year absence from
them.  I am age 60 now.  I stopped wearing them when I was in the early
forties because the single vision was not working any longer.
I realize that the whole technology has changed now with disposables,
Computer monitor - lighting23 Feb 2005 08:28 GMT3
Hi.  I work all day on a computer.  I've recently removed the light strips
above my head, as I find it more comfortable to work when it's a bit darker.
The rest of the office is fairly adequately lit, but it is quite a bit
darker around my desk.  Is this very bad for my eyes?  Or ...
Tear Duct Plug All the Way In22 Feb 2005 23:54 GMT2
Should I worry about a tear duct plug that is now all the way inside
the duct?
I was trying to keep it from falling out and accidentally pushed it too
far. Now it is not visible at all from the outside.
Strained, watery, burning eyes and clogged nose22 Feb 2005 18:09 GMT8
I'm a little concerned about my eyes recently. This past week my eyes have
felt extremely strained to the point of not wanting to look at anything.
(feel like just closing my eyes) Looking upwards is real bad and of course
looking at the TV or computer has been terrible. It ...
