Scarring in eye?30 Nov 2004 23:59 GMT1
I recently have been experiencing strange visual phonemenon that's
best described as a circular flasher. It usually appears in the same
part of my left eye and is kind of semi-transparent and kind of

Unable to correct to 20/2030 Nov 2004 22:19 GMT13
I recently had an (eyeglass) exam and was told that the best that I
could be corrected to in one eye was 20/25 or so, that my eye would
not accept enough correction. The suggested lens i -1 with slight
astigmatism. (My other eye can be brought to 20/15).
Kenalog side effects30 Nov 2004 01:08 GMT2
Has anyone known of significant systemic side effects (sudden weight gain,
edema, depression, .....) from a single large injection of kenalog?
If so, how long do such side effects last - and is there any way to relieve
or shorten their duration?
Shawn thanks you for your help to clear to 20/2029 Nov 2004 22:49 GMT25
Dear Prevention minded friends,
Shawn contacted me about 9 months ago, because he
was very unhappy about receiving a strong minus lens
(-1.5 diopters) and having 20/60 vision.
Question about PAL's29 Nov 2004 22:34 GMT18
I recently purchased glasses from Lenscrafter's which had
progressive lenses.  I returned them after 1 week and got
lined bifocals, because the PAL's had a very narrow field
of view.  My prescription is -4.5, -4.25 with +1.5 add on

filtering, etc... and the new image look dark...(or ...
Questions About Astigmatism28 Nov 2004 10:07 GMT6
My vision is mildly blurred. I recently went to the eye doctor and
found out that I have astigmatism. I got eyeglasses, and things are
much clearer. However, when I tilt my head to the side, everything
looks skewed. I was wondering if there are people here with

Hello all--I'm new to this group, but something that's been bugging me
for literally years, came up anew in the past few days talking with
some friends.
About 20 years ago in Albuquerque NM, I happened to pick an

As someone considering Lasik and living in Northern Michigan, I've got
some questions:
I am considering going to Windsor Canada to get lower cost, more

Multipupose Contact Lens solution left in cold temperature26 Nov 2004 22:57 GMT2
I recently left a nearly full bottle of contact lens MPS in the trunk of my
car overnight and the temperature was fairly cold.  It was probably less
than zero degrees celsius out...  I know the precautions say to store
between 15 and 25 C, but do you think its still safe to use ...
New PAL wearer question26 Nov 2004 20:34 GMT1
I'm a 55 year old male engineer who has worn eyeglasses (with a brief
time with hard contact lens at about age 20, before they started
drilling them) since about age 10.  At about age 48, the bifocal need
came <g>.  All before this week have been glass.  I like glass ...
Contact lens vs glasses prescription26 Nov 2004 13:46 GMT3
I recently had a sight test for glasses then, separately by a
different optician, a sight test for contact lens. Both prescriptions
came out the same at -4.50 (for one eye. I'll keep it simple.)
Is that what you'd expect? Or, because contact lens sits much closer

According to the job description, an Optician
Heats, shapes, or bends plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit

I wonder if the adjustment procedure is available anywhere online.  How do
Old and new packages of Acuvue-225 Nov 2004 13:47 GMT2
I have been using lenses since 1998. So far, I only had Acuvue-2
lenses. When I had my first Acuvue-2, I thought they were monthly (it
was a mistake) and I used them for 1 month, sometimes more (about
40-45 days). I had absolutely no problems with them, my view was
