are eye drops required for extended wear lenses17 Oct 2004 07:48 GMT3
Are eye drops (i.e AMO blink & clean) required for extended wear, or should
most users be ok without assuming a correctly fitted lens?
B&L SoftLens 66 Toric - monthly or 2-week disposable?17 Oct 2004 04:09 GMT4
(Pardon my English, I'm not a native English speaker..)
4 months ago, I went to an optimetrist to try out new contant lenses,
since the older ones (Horizon 55 Toric) had made my eyes dry. This was
the first time I went to him. I asked him for *MONTHLY* disposable
Re: Crystalens  ... question for Glenn Hegele16 Oct 2004 04:53 GMT1
Earlier Glenn Hegele posted in part:
"While all these stats do look impressive, there are some significant
limitations with the CrystaLens, and all seem to be dependant upon the
quality of the surgeon or the physiology of the individual's eye.
First extended wear - is this usual?16 Oct 2004 04:40 GMT2
Worn lenses for 10 years+ and inititiall had issues with red eye caused by
wearing lenses during all waking hours. A change to Proclear a couple of
years ago seemed to overcome any issues (as I were told then they are the
most oxygen permable lens?)

A question about Keratoconus15 Oct 2004 22:43 GMT2
I've been diagnosed with keratoconus about half a year ago. Up to then
i didn't know why my vision was so bad. The doctor who examined me has
taken a long time to explain all things about keratoconus and that the
only treatment available is wearing hard contact lenses to 'correct'

New glasses - night vision14 Oct 2004 18:42 GMT2
I have just had an eye exam and had new glasses made up
(-5.50-1.25x155 -5.75-1.00x15 )
Vision with these new spectacles seems generally good, however at night I
feel that I have "slight" halos around distance streetlights but not too
Bates, Raphaelson and Prevention with Plus14 Oct 2004 05:02 GMT20
Dear Robin,
Suject:  The conventional minus lens, and efforts at prevention.
As you know, Bates objected to the minus lens -- and
attempted "exercise".  The results are "mixed" indeed.
Serengeti Drivers (sunglasses) Clones?13 Oct 2004 21:26 GMT3
For several years I've used Serengeti Drivers sunglasses
(non-prescription, brown coating), and love them. I like how they
brighten the reds and greens -- great not only for driving, but also
for outdoor use. They really cut through haze, too.
Gray line & spot on my eye, serious?12 Oct 2004 23:39 GMT4
In my right eye I have a light grayish line that runs half way around
my iris and a very light cloudy grayish spot at the bottom part of the
iris. My vision is fine in that eye but it just doest feel right, it
feels kinda sore and aggrivated alot of the time. Alot of times if
Pink Eye Medicine Over-the-counter11 Oct 2004 19:08 GMT1
In the USA I saw an ad for an over-the-counter medicine for "pink eye." How
would a person know if they had pink eye without seeing a doctor who would
provide a prescription. I have had red eyes, but they were never "pink eye."
A person could buy the medicine, and that might delay ...
Ciba N&D or Purevision for Astigmatism11 Oct 2004 18:54 GMT1
Can anyone advice which lens tends to give better vision for mild astigmats.
As far as I am aware the ciba lens is aspeheric so should mask mild
astigmatism better than a regular lens. The ciba lens predictor tends to
suggest a higher lens power than for a traditional no aspheric ...
