Difference between eye testing machine and eyeglass lenses?17 Sep 2004 20:47 GMT3
What is the physical difference between the optics you look through
during the "which is better" objective part of an eye exam and the
optics used in eyeglass lenses?
Am I correct in assuming that multiple lenses are used in the testing
Rapid Visual Degradation in Left Eye17 Sep 2004 20:25 GMT3
I have recently (in the past week) experienced rapid degradation in the
focusing ability of my left eye.  18 point (0.8 inch ) high text is fuzzy at
1 metre,
my right eye is fine.  What the hell could this be due to?  Seriously,

the ABO/NCLE was important or highly beneficial for applying to
Optometry School and if it is, are their any suggestions for

Retina Swelling 14 Sep 2004 19:56 GMT11
I had cataract surgery 5 months and still have retina swelling in one eye.
I am on Pred Forte and Acular but having bad side effects, will the swelling
heal itself without meds?  I guess the next questions would be if it heals
itself how long would it take to clear up?
photodynamic treatment and visual disturbances14 Sep 2004 18:28 GMT2
I had a photodynamic treatment (PDT) with Visudyne on Spt 8 to treat a
very small leak of fluid on the back of the retina. The leak had
caused my visin to decease from 20/30 to 20/70. I do not have macular
degeneration.

Does anyone here have information on the degree of corneal damage which
occurs with the 5 year use of Tamocifen (to prevent re-occurance of
breast cancer)?
I am interested because I need to make some decisions related to this
Toric Lense Problems11 Sep 2004 18:43 GMT4
I've been to several providers and have yet to find one that can fit
me with a toric lense that does not rotate.  I have had some that were
great for a little while then they just went blurry.  Are some people
just unable to wear them?
It WAS Iritis! (not conjunctivitis)11 Sep 2004 15:09 GMT11

Crooked optometrist? Versaflex MRP contacts.11 Sep 2004 03:16 GMT9
It looks like my optometrist is getting desperate. He perscribed me the

couldn't find them anywhere. I called one online shop and they suggested
they they were a private label only available to optometrists. ...
leo angart - vision training - myopia improvemnt10 Sep 2004 19:42 GMT2
I went on Leo's vision training, in London.  I'm new on this group.
It was very helpful.
I now use glasses only for driving, for myopia, where prior I used
them all the time.  I have good and bad moments day to day - but

There is a new forum, open to anyone who wants to discuss the eye drops selling on the internet that claim to be a curative for cataracts. It's probably worth checking out.

Blepharitis09 Sep 2004 13:01 GMT9
Cool.
Apparently the consultant I saw yesterday reckons I have Blepharitis, he
commented that my eyes are dry, and the oils secreted by the eye are
getting trapped on the eyelid causing irritation.
