For Larry -- Time-constant calculation for a more negative visual-environment26 Sep 2004 15:00 GMT1
Dear Larry,

sense-experience correspond to a logically uniform system of thought."

Scientology and Vision24 Sep 2004 18:31 GMT31
Another idea I had with a response I might try.  I thought of
Scientology after Tom Cruise said in a speech once that he had
dyslexia and Scientology helped him out.

Lens transmission question24 Sep 2004 18:03 GMT4
Is there a significant difference in light transmission
between CR39 plastic and polycarbonate?
I have on set of lenses that were made for me at Costco
(clear polycarbonate) and another pair from Eyemart (CR39
Dr. Francis Young and the "cover" test (esophoria & exophoria)24 Sep 2004 05:55 GMT10
Dear DrG,
DrG>  It is indeed laudable that Otis recognizes the published work of some
esteemed optometrists, who believe that close work plays a role in
myopiagenesis.
How long before "re do" of Lasik?23 Sep 2004 19:25 GMT12
I'm a month post lasik (one eye) with about 20/40 and it hasn't seemed
to have changed since the second day. (Only one eye as I'm trying for
monovision)  I fully realize that it's still too early to tell what
the final results will be but if I don't get to 20/20 or so I'd like

how long do contact lenses last w/o use?23 Sep 2004 13:33 GMT1
Would it be safe to wear contact lenses that have not been used in
about two years?  They're meant to last two months with daily use, but
would they go bad just sitting in the case?
They're soft lenses, power -5.50.

PRK results21 Sep 2004 18:24 GMT4
I had PRK surgery 5 weeks ago. The myopia corrected was moderate 2.5 and 3.0
diopters. There was an astigmatism in one eye. Although I am seeing better
than one week post-op, it is in no way satisfactory. My distance vision is
blurry, and driving is still a bit precarious. The funny ...
Do My New Eyeglass Prescriptions Make Sense?21 Sep 2004 12:59 GMT5
I just went to a new opthalmologist for a checkup (I'm very
nearsighted and have a lot of "floaters"), and got a new eyeglass
prescription.  I like my old eyeglass prescription just fine, but it's
over 2 years old now and my old glasses are getting worn out.
What kind of lens is this21 Sep 2004 00:07 GMT1
I'm looking for a new pair of glass because my present one is getting
ages, almost 7 years. I've strong prescription, -8 ish and stable in
the last ten years. I'm in my 40's. I want to know what kind of lens I
have right now and what is aviablle new as technology changes. I like
Another RGP question20 Sep 2004 17:31 GMT2
This is more of a curiosity than a problem.  I wear Focus Daily soft
lenses over the RGP lenses.  Because of a poor TBUT I can only
tolerate hard lenses for an hour or two.  With the soft lenses over
the hard, I can tolerate the lenses for 8 hours or more.
ICL vs. CLE19 Sep 2004 05:38 GMT8
I'm a -15 myope starting to develop contact lens intolerance, probably
due to dry eye (after decades of successful wear).  I'm considering
the options of ICLs or CLEs (glasses are right out!).  I'm pushing 50
and have a bit of presbyopia.  Any opinions on the benefits/risks of
Hard deposit on RGP lens18 Sep 2004 16:52 GMT2
I don't wear the contacts that often, maybe twice a week for about six
hours each time.  I leave them soaking in Boston Conditioning Solution
when not in use.  A few days ago I put the lenses in and it felt like
a hair on the lens.  I didn't feel it until I was on the interstate
Disagreement with Mike -- by a Professor of Optometry18 Sep 2004 04:29 GMT3
Dear Friends,
There are two diametrically opposed concepts on the
eye.
One considers the minus lens to be "perfect" and no
