Raynaud's & LASIK27 Aug 2004 21:15 GMT4
Some LASIK Eye Mills are telling me I am contraindicated.

Anyone know the number for the FDA LASIK medical
monitors in Washington state?
Contact lens out of solution overnight27 Aug 2004 20:58 GMT2
Couple of nights ago, I thought I put the contact in the case after
work but next morning I realized it was on the ground. As expected the
contact was all wrinkled and hard like glass.
I soaked it in the allpurpose solution for more than a day and today I

I'm trying new contacts made of galyfilcon A.   (AcuVue Advance )
Is this a new type of plastic?
The ones I've had for years are Vilficon  (Focus)
The Focus are very floppy and the AcuVue's retain their shape.

Hi I had a cataract removed from one eye eleven days ago. Initially
the vision in the affected eye seemed to be rapidly getting clearer.
But now it is getting worse. My eye also seems more irritated and
teary.  I was using a simple vision test-- propping up a magazine--and
Blepharitis question26 Aug 2004 20:19 GMT10
I've developed Blepharitis in one eye after having eye surgery
(interesting, because I've had Seborrheic Dermatitis appear on my
scalp and face after surgeries as well). My eye constantly flakes and
itches. That in itself is really not so bad, except for the potential

epicanthal folds in European descent?23 Aug 2004 02:28 GMT2
How common are epicanthal folds in people of Europen descent? Can this be
a sign of some teratology or birth defect, or is it genetic to Europeans?
I have small epicanthal folds in the corner of my eyes (I have a "double"

How accurate is the natural eye's refractive status, relative to its visual environment?22 Aug 2004 23:40 GMT4
Dear Friends,
I present the natural eye as dynamic.  This means that
the natural eye is controling its refractive status

Clear lenses afford any UV protection?21 Aug 2004 02:52 GMT5

Do my clear, non colored lenses of my bifocals afford
ANY uv protection at all?

SOLA Computer lenses (Alternatives)21 Aug 2004 02:41 GMT1
I'm a bit confused.
Some web sites sell SOLA computer-use glasses for around $70.
I went to a local eye store and they told me I would need an exam and
spend around $230 for the same type SOLA setup.
Cold-Induced Raynaud's Disease & LASIK 20 Aug 2004 21:24 GMT1
Would cold-induced Raynaud's be a contraindication for undergoing LASIK?
I know common Raynaud's is a warning sign but mine was caused by
repeated freezings of my hands on walks to school.
I usually seem to heal pretty good but are corneas restricted to a different

I'm looking to purchase a new set of eyeglasses and wanted to know which
type of hi-index lens is best.  I don't have a new prescription yet, but my
current lenses are -4.00 and -4.25 with a little astigmatism.  Would the
