grey spots on whites of my eyes13 Jul 2004 03:12 GMT11
I've noticed in the past year or so that on the whites of both eyes located
between the edge of the color of my eye and the inside corner of my eye
there are (one on each eye) a grey discoloration.  Its appearance is not
exactly round, but it the size of a very small eraser on the ...
Scratches on lens12 Jul 2004 20:20 GMT2
I wear glasses and my lenses have small scratches on them.  I do not
notice the scratches when I am wearing the glasses.  Will the
scratches make my vision worse over time?
Contact Lens Quandry12 Jul 2004 04:17 GMT12
Here's a puzzler worthy of Click and Clack, if you listen to NPR's "Car
Talk."
I've been bearing CSI Daily wear for years and years but started to have
more comfort problems, especially when I switched to a 13.8mm diameter since
Extended Wear Contact Lenses11 Jul 2004 23:17 GMT21
I was using Acuvue 2 for about a year, but I grew really excited when
I heard about Ciba's Night & Day lenses.  I just enjoyed having the
OPTION to sleep in my contacts, if necessary.
The N&D lenses were never quite as comfortable as my Acuvues...I felt
Risk of Contacts 2?11 Jul 2004 22:39 GMT4
I wear Focus 2 weeks softs, follow all rules and never sleep in them
other than
occasional naps.
But, sometimes, late at night there is some blurriness. I'm thinking it
risks of contact lenses11 Jul 2004 17:58 GMT9
I have just decided to switch form regular eyeglasses to contact
lenses and I am, so far, very happy.  My question concerns the risks
associated with the use of contact lenses.
I am using soft, permeable, replacable (every couple of months or so)
More on Flitcroft and myopia 200411 Jul 2004 13:42 GMT1
For those who have the time, curiosity, and requisite knowledge, I highly
recommend reading the Stone, Flitcroft paper in its entirety.  It
summarizes current research and makes some interesting observations about
the pathogenesis of myopia, observations some of us have been ...
Otis, please, please explain10 Jul 2004 20:31 GMT1
How is wearing a -2.00 D lens on a 2.00 diopter myope any different
from a emetrope wearing no lens at all. What in your opinion
stimulates this "stair case" myopia. I can understand why myopia may
develope in a developing eye when it is
Sports and glasses10 Jul 2004 03:54 GMT7
Hi again. :) I'm 19 and thinking about playing soccer this fall. What
kind of eyewear would you recommend? Is there anything that doesn't
look entirely dorky but is still functional? Thanks.
lens/distance question10 Jul 2004 03:37 GMT14
For a person with normal vision sitting 35" away from a computer screen, what
lenses would be needed to force ones eyes to focus such that they are being
used for distance?
What would be the formula to calculate this?
Corneal Erosion and dyes10 Jul 2004 03:04 GMT3
Hello - as of today I'm switching ophthalmologists.  Here's my question.....
Up until now, I had my last corneal erosion episode about 3 weeks ago and it
lasted a week and was very painful (all the ones before that one only lasted
1-2 days).  But, the day it started three weeks ago, ...
Scientific truth (i.e., facts) that determine the eye's behavior10 Jul 2004 01:43 GMT3
Dear Friends,
I believe in the simplest of tests -- to determine the effect that the
minus lens ALWAYS has on the refractive status of the natural eye.
If this result were not ALWAYS repeatable, and the
Nearsightedness Prevention Animation Video10 Jul 2004 01:37 GMT14
Dear Friends,
Donald Rehm has posted an informative video
on his site.
I down-loaded it at 28k.  I took about 3 minutes.
aqueous outflow in vitrectomized eyes09 Jul 2004 21:06 GMT2
I have a question relating to the outflow of aqueous humor in a
vitrectomized eye. Will the rate of aqueous or BSS outflow from the vitreous
cavity though the retina be affected by an increase in IOP? If so, is it a
direct relation (i.e., if the IOP is doubled, will the outflow ...
