differing prescriptions -- worth following up?10 Jun 2004 16:56 GMT2
I apologize for the length of this post -- somebody get me an editor!
Last year I had first eye exam in three years.  The optometrist gave

Iris Dilation Versus Accuracy?10 Jun 2004 07:32 GMT2
Can a prescription vary significantly in
accuracy if it's determined with/without
drops and a dilated iris? What's best? Thanks.

I was recently sight tested and my script had changed. So much so that my
optician insited she put me into myodisc lenses. My Rx is -25D/-.50/90 for both

It hasbeen 18 months since my last test and the change was quite marked. I find

Dear Mike,
You accused me of "not being intellectually honest
about the behavior of the natural eye".

is my Slab-off prescription necessary09 Jun 2004 21:09 GMT2
I am 51, had lasik about 5 years ago correcting to 20/20 in both eyes.
Was quite nearsighted before that. Last month I had a detached retina
in my right eye, had surgery, had the buckle put around my eye and I'm
recovering well. Can read quite well at about 14" now, but distance is
Otis says it is OK to be nearsighted!09 Jun 2004 03:49 GMT7
DrL > Otis, we should be careful to restrict our arguments to the discussion of
facts or lack thereof.

Breaking News, Aspartame and MS, and movie, neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D.08 Jun 2004 22:07 GMT4
Remember that aspartame is a neurotoxic drug masquerading as an
additive.  It liberates free methyl alcohol which converts to
formaldehyde and formic acid even in the retina of the eye and
destroys the optic nerve.  Read on about MS.
N = 1, The only "N" that counts08 Jun 2004 20:06 GMT10
Dear Friends,
I have removed the identy of "Keith" and "Jon" to
protect them.  The rest is an accurate assessment
of the proper use of the plus for prevention exclusively.
Binocular glasses, do they work as plus lenses?08 Jun 2004 15:04 GMT12
I was wondering, assuming plus therapy works, if binocular glasses
would help vision?  They might help my myopia go more toward the plus
side if used regularly?  Or are they just another pair of minus
glasses.  I had these binocluar glasses for concerts, saw them and
Cataract surgery this past December question08 Jun 2004 09:24 GMT2
Around 10pm all of a sudden I lost vision in the one eye with the
implant/cataract surgery.  It was a complete white light with no vision out
of that eye for a few minutes then a minute or two of flashing lights.
After the few minutes, the eye was fine.  It scared me so bad I ...

A Question Regarding The Need For Glasses08 Jun 2004 04:29 GMT27
I hope you can help me with something that's been nagging me for a week now:
I am 24 years old and have never worn glasses in my life.
I recently discovered that the image in my left eye is imperfect at a
distance.
Handling tint07 Jun 2004 21:34 GMT2
A while back I complained that my Frequency 55 Torics were labeled as if
they had a handling tint, but were absolutely clear as water, no tint at
all.  Someone assured me that there was indeed a slight tint, I just
wasn't noticing it.
Is this the Year to have Lasik?07 Jun 2004 18:35 GMT5
I've been considering lasik for years, but keep putting it off in
anticipation of technological improvements & to give U.S. surgeons
more time to get experience.  I'm near-sighted & wear contacts
comfortably but I do a lot of outdoor activity where it would be
