New prescription: which lens type and AR?18 Jun 2004 22:38 GMT2
I will be filling a new prescription shortly.  I was hoping I could
get some recommendations on what type and brand of lenses and/or AR
I should purchase.
My prescription is as follows for both eyes:

Grey stuff interfering with my vision17 Jun 2004 17:43 GMT2
Hi, I'm 20, male, from Serbia (so you have to pardon my poor English),
and this is the first time for me to post here.
Anyway, I've been having this problem (annoyance) with my vision,
well, I don't know for how long, possibly even from the birth. The
Focus N&D versus Accuve Advance17 Jun 2004 16:11 GMT12
I currently wear Focus N&D but am considering trying Accuve Advance
since a clinical trial shows they are more comfortable.   What is the
experience of others who have switched.  Thanks

I would be greatly thankful to you people if I can get any advice,
input, personal comments on my case as described below:
Somewhere in the age of 3-5 years, I had a little accident, jumped
from something high and the edge of my left eye hit the bed post. I

Born to be nearsighed?? yes and no..17 Jun 2004 02:30 GMT10
This group seems to be divided into two camps:
1.  Myopia is hereditary and minus lenses correct natrue's mistakes.
2.  The eye is like any other part of the body and adapts to how it is used.
After reading this group for a while, I have come to a conclusion ( below),
Autorefractor16 Jun 2004 14:57 GMT62
I went to my ophthalmologist this week only to find that my BCVA has
decreased to below the minimum for driving (although I'm "close").
The retinas in both eyes checked out fine and my ophthalmologist told
me that she's confident she can correct my vision (even though she was
Medicare restrictions15 Jun 2004 23:03 GMT15
I saw an earlier post on this news group stating that in a medical procedure
not approved by Medicare and in which a potential patient was eligible for
Medicare, the doctor would be prohibited by Medicare from performing the
said procedure on this patient .  I asked a Medical Doctor ...

Off-axis problem with progressives?15 Jun 2004 18:58 GMT3
I'm surprised at the off-axis fuzziness with my Ovation progressives. The
clear field of view is only about 10 degrees. At normal reading distance,
that's about the width of a newsprint column. A line of print in a book
requires me moving my head left to right on each line. Is this ...
Tip with Plus lenses15 Jun 2004 06:38 GMT12
While at church on Saturdays for me I use my +1.25 during the
churchhour.  Nothing to look at but a bunch of old people anyway so
wearing them there is a good hour's work toward vision improvement.  I
try and relax there and use the prayer book for tromboning.

Dear Friends,

associated with using a strong minus lens on
a young child.
Thank you Otis15 Jun 2004 03:05 GMT5
Thanks Otis, for pointing out that auto focus cameras and the human eye
behave the same way.  This info is going to save me a bundle of money.
I have an auto focus camera with interchangable lenses.  So far I only have
a 50mm lens for standard photographs and other lenses are very ...
