Dry eyes - A pain in the arse.12 Apr 2004 15:52 GMT2
I'm experiencing dry eyes which is very annoying. I can't read, I can't
watch TV, I can't work at the computer. Watching a football match or a
movie is a nightmare. I remember having this problem back in fall, and
it came back stronger two-three months ago. I visited an ...
Acuvue2 and Acuvue Advance...12 Apr 2004 15:47 GMT2
Hello to you all!
I currently wear the optima FW contact lenses (BC 8.4) and am
satisfied with it.
I heard of a lens called Acuvue Advance from Vistakon, as they mention
Strange Eye (Cornea) problem12 Apr 2004 05:21 GMT1
What would cause someone's cornea to temporarily change shape?
I witnessed a person's cornea develop a small round depression maybe 3mm
across and 1mm deep.  The depression cleared up in roughly 30 minutes. The
person said it felt like dirt was on the eye, it was also blurring the ...

My Dad has dry AMD. He can hardly recognize my face from about 5 ft
away. Sees a mouth, nose
etc. Reading is very frustrating for him. For some reason he can see
clearer whey he takes his
Freckle in eye11 Apr 2004 01:13 GMT3
I have a "freckle" for lack of proper terminology, in my left eye
right above the pupil in the colored region of my eye.  I have light
brown eyes, almost hazel, and actually have quite a few "spots" all
over in both eyes, but only this one is large enough for me to call it
Trying to decide between 2 LASIK doctors (Laser versus Blade?)10 Apr 2004 21:08 GMT8
Both are highly skilled surgeons in San Francisco (and quite expensive
I might add, but I'm willing to pay for the skill). One is my
opthamalogist who I've been seeing for a few years. Great reputation
in general, very good LASIK guy.
A question to Otis10 Apr 2004 13:17 GMT10
How to avoid farsightness or hypermetropia?
Can I mirror your ideas in avoiding myopia?
That is to say giving less plus power (or none at all) than needed or in
other words giving to much minus correction?
Hoya lens availability10 Apr 2004 08:31 GMT1
Dear group,
Would someone be kind enough to look in his or her catalogs/reference
books to see if these 4 Hoya lenses are available for my prescription?

Oh yuck.  And I thought that tattooed eye liner was creepy.  Am I wrong,
or does the illustration not exactly match the description?
good alternative to Sola Vizio (lots of questions)09 Apr 2004 22:06 GMT3
Dear group,
I'm in the process of getting new glasses, and I'm determined to get a
really good pair (especially lens-wise).  I did a lot of reading of the
archives for this group and decided that the Sola Vizio lens was a good
Corneal vascularization09 Apr 2004 17:07 GMT4
I'm a bit worried about my vision.  I wear contacts for myopia (Acuvue
Dailies) occasionally; sometimes for a few weeks (new lenses every
day) and sometimes only once a week or so.  The rest of the time I
wear glasses.
Why true prevention can not be offered by an OD09 Apr 2004 05:22 GMT17
Dear Friends,
We have had pleasant arguments about the eye's
natural behavior.
But the real problem is the publics rejection

i am a myope with about -19 diopters , ever since i can remember [
well i guess when i was 6 years old onwards ] my visual acuity is 6/24

degeneration
Lenses + glasses at same time ?07 Apr 2004 22:21 GMT2
I have found out, that if I use my prescription sunglasses
(Serengeti Drivers, 12 years old) on while wearing lenses, I
still get a way better distance vision. Partly because of the
contrast.
Double vision eye strain07 Apr 2004 00:28 GMT1
I have had a chronic problems with double vision for about 5 years.
The problem seems to be getting progressively worse.  It all started a
few years after working in computers.  Back around 1998 I started
working as a computer support technician. I was on the computer all
