Contact lenses that perm. correct vision?04 Mar 2004 21:39 GMT1
I am 20/100 on vision and a friend of mine said that some contact
lenses exist that will permanently correct your vision to 20/20.
Supposedly you go to an eye doctor and with corneal mapping, he scans
your eye then issues you some contacts that you wear everyday.  After
Lasik, Dry Eyes, and Blurry Vision04 Mar 2004 18:19 GMT6
I had Lasik almost four years ago and everything is nearly perfect,
except for my dry eyes.  I can't say that my eyes have ever been
overly moist, but now they seem unusually dry.  That's not the bad
part.  Every once in a while (about once or twice a month), I wake up
How does an autorefractor work?04 Mar 2004 15:31 GMT5
I have been set an assignment to do about how an autorefractor works.
I would be grateful of any help you can give me.

In this article

that:
"One of the advantages of the higher modulus of silicone hydrogel lenses is
Wonder how infrared optometer works and where to buy?04 Mar 2004 15:05 GMT1
I am interested in the relationship of accommodation and myopia. I
wonder how infrared optometer works and where to buy infrared
optometer if I want to do some research on it.
Mike, thanks for the warning on Auto-refractor errors.04 Mar 2004 04:58 GMT4

We should all double check our measurements
as Mike suggested and I support.
See Clearly04 Mar 2004 02:43 GMT2
Has anyone here had any success with this method?  Especially for a
"reading glasses" correction and astigmatism?

Phakic Lens Implants03 Mar 2004 19:23 GMT2
I wonder if anyone has any advice / experience about this procedure.  I
have -8.5 in both eyes and am over 50 years old.  The options for corrective
surgery seem to be LASIK, refractive lens surgery or phakic lens implants.
It has been suggested that the procedure best suited for ...
Switching brands of contacts03 Mar 2004 08:35 GMT1
I've been wanting to switch to Night&Day lenses for a while now.  (I'm
on Acuvue2 at the moment)...I was wondering if I should see my eye doc
before switching brands, or if I could go ahead and order the other
brand online. (since my vision hasn't changed)  I don't have vision
Conjunctivitis Bad02 Mar 2004 13:34 GMT43
Dont know if this is the right place, but I have a very bad case of
conjunctivitis. It seems to get worse under bright lights and in front
of the computer screen and is limited to one eye. unfortunately I am
unable to resist the temptation to pick gunk out of my eye. As such I am ...
Topical Anti-Inflammatory Agents02 Mar 2004 05:09 GMT1
I had been using Voltaren for CME for only six weeks when my doctor
recommended discontinuing it, although the condition had not been fully
resolved. Another doctor, who participated in this forum, stated that his
CME patients ordinarily continue using such drugs for several months. ...
Toric contacts and using computer at work01 Mar 2004 23:42 GMT8
I just got my first pair of contacts last year which are torics
because of my astigmatism.  Problem is that when I use my computer my
vision is blured and no where near as clear as when I'm wearing my
glasses.  As a result I have to wear my glasses which defeats the
Ophthalmologist/Optometrist01 Mar 2004 18:30 GMT7
I'm tinkering with a possible Wikipedia article about the optics of an
eyeglass prescription, and I think I need to come to grips with the
slippery issue of defining "ophthalmologist" and "optometrist." Anyone
care to critique the following language?
High index lenses01 Mar 2004 16:36 GMT3
Ref: High index lenses
I've had very vague responses from high street opticians on this stuff
and would very much appreciate any advice you can offer on the topic.
Apologies for length but the more info the better seamed appropriate
