Why not normal saline?21 Mar 2004 02:07 GMT1
I notice the saline for contacts is only 0.4%, which I know to be only
~half of normal saline, which is 0.9%.
Why is this?

I just received a new pair of glasses.  They are transitions with A/R

unremovable through cleaning.  It is only viewable at certain angles
and lighting and against a dark background.  I even took it back to
Scratches in Lens have adverse affects on eyes?20 Mar 2004 03:57 GMT4
Just wondering whether minor scratches in glasses lens have adverse
affects on your eyes or vision?  Or how about deeper scratches?
I did a search for this and couldn't find any information on this.
Thank  you very much.

I have had strabismus for all my life as I know it. I went through
serious treatment during young age, I have no ambylopia, but an
altermating strabismus. When I was 19, I got an operation for
strabismus, for my non-dominant eye. So today, I look "okay" if use

Is the tiny inscription on Focus Night and Days ("Cibavision...") meant to
be read in the correct orientation from the inside or outside of the lens?

strabismus surgery18 Mar 2004 22:18 GMT2
Hello, I'm thinking about having surgery for strabismus. I've had the
surgery before. The last was in 1988. I have seen double since! The
vision in the right eye is 20/200. What are the chances of making the
right eye perfectly straight? I'm 39 and wear no glasses.
Should I see an Opthomologist or Optometrist?18 Mar 2004 00:55 GMT2
I have spent the past year visiting every MD eye doctor in the local
region, and every one completely ignores my complaints about my vision
changes.  I have been battling light source distortions in the form of
halos, starbursts, and extreme glare.

Trifocals versus progressives?16 Mar 2004 19:48 GMT2
Well, I've about reached the limit with bifocals. My accommodation is
now weak enough that I cannot achieve comfortable, sharp vision at both
computer-screen distance and reading distance with a single correction.
I am not at all concerned about bifocal lines being visible. But I ...

Problem with Thera Tears eye drops near expiration date?16 Mar 2004 09:50 GMT3
I bought a couple of boxes of Thera Tears Lubricant Eye Drops that are
expiring on July 2004.  I just got LASIK and use about 5-6 tubes a day

Transition Lenses 100% UV Protection?16 Mar 2004 07:41 GMT2
I have a pair of glasses with Transition Lenses.  I was debating on
whether to pick up a pair of prescription sunglasses as well.  i'm
