Night vision problems after injury30 Mar 2004 20:31 GMT6
Two years ago I was hit by accident in the eye, which resulted in a
black eye and scratched cornea. But after my eye healed back I started
noticing strange effects at night or in poor lighting. Basically, I
see "lines" or "starbursts" around light sources. These effects are
Methanol Blinded my Left Eye!30 Mar 2004 20:25 GMT3
My left eye is completely blind. I see nothing. I don't notice
anything in my left eye. Not dark. Not bright. Not black. Not white.
Just blank. Just nothingness. Why?
Methanol has attacked the lens in my left eye.

I'm 19. When I was 8 I had surgery on both eyes for strabismus.  Not
sure of the details but I could get them if necessary.  The surgery
was done @ Childrens Hospital of Phildelphia.

over power side effect28 Mar 2004 20:38 GMT4
What's the side effect of getting a glass or contact that is
-0.25 higher than your power... assuming there is no headache.

thinnest lenses?28 Mar 2004 19:46 GMT3
I have to buy new glasses. I'm about -7 with moderate astigmatism. Want

lenses to look for that would be the thinnest possible, plus are there
downsides (beside price) to going thin.
Responsive but dilated pupils?28 Mar 2004 17:55 GMT3
I went in for an optometrist visit a few months ago for an eye exam looking

the most part) and strange wobbling of vision/disequilibrium sensation that
I've been getting for weeks at a time on and off.  It's ...

New post-cataract surgery progressive eyeglass prescription27 Mar 2004 02:33 GMT6
I am 38 yo and had cataract surgery two weeks ago to remove a
posterior subcapsular cataract in my right eye.  I've been myopic, in
the -3 or -4 range, most of my life and I've always worn glasses well.
I'm a bit puzzled by my surgeon's new prescription for progressive
Differences between my prescriptions?26 Mar 2004 23:33 GMT9
I recently had an eye test (at a major chain) to check my suitabiltiy for
contact lenses (for occasional sports use), but while there, I was also
given a new glasses perscription.  I was in no hurry to get new glasses (as
I consider my sight ok with the current ones) so just took ...
Verification of Bates theory26 Mar 2004 20:59 GMT43
In the beginning of the last century, Dr. Bates conducted numerous experiments in order to formulate his theory about the way the eye/brain system works and the nature of vision defects. Although I can credit his method with significant improvement in my vision, some of his ...
