Hard Contact Lenses19 Jan 2004 18:33 GMT3
I have been wearing soft contact lenses for about 11 years.  For almost that
entire time, they have been some sort of toric lens, both disposable and
non-disposable.  For the past three or four years, the only thing that has
worked for me our the Optima Toric Lenses.  I would buy ...
Question for the Docs here: Mystery Rx...19 Jan 2004 18:05 GMT10
Hi Docs,
This is a question for you guys. I saw this posting on a BB called
"Eyescene," which is peopled by folks who love wearing glasses. What is
your best guess about this guy? Is he hyperopic? Blind in one eye?
monocular diplopia19 Jan 2004 17:25 GMT1
My years-old monocular diplopia is explained at last. This may not
help others, but for me it is a complete solution. My vision at night
(irises wide open) had a second, fainter image above the main one when
viewing sharp, bright objects (LED clock; planet or star in

Hey experts,
I have a friend who has 8.5D in both eyes and is of age 24 and am
kinda worried about its long term effects.
I wanted to know what the future effects of high degree myopia are and
Soft lens in -6.25 power?18 Jan 2004 14:40 GMT2
I've found out that most manufacturers don't make quarter diopter
increments after -6.00, but I need that quarter difference between
eyes (and I need the -6.25 in my r. eye). I'm open to wearing whatever
soft lens works--doesn't have to be weekly disposables. I wonder if
One or two "Mad Italians...?"18 Jan 2004 14:12 GMT1
I don't know much about servers or anything about "dynamic IP
addresses." But these came from 3 different headers: Two from Rishi and
one from Evaristo. They posted apparently from different ISPs.

Switching cleaning solution leads to slight eye burning?17 Jan 2004 22:13 GMT1
I wear Bausch & Lomb two-week disposables, and was using the Bausch & Lomb
no-rub formula without any problems. I recently decided to give the generic
CVS no-rub a try, as it's significantly cheaper. ($2.99 vs. $8.99) I've
noticed a slight burning sensation when putting the contacts ...
auto accident and retinal detachment question17 Jan 2004 05:57 GMT94
I was involved in a auto accident where I was rear-ended on Oct 1, 2003.
Around Dec 7th I started noticing
floaters in my left eye. On Dec 11th I went to see my opthamologist and he
found numerous tears and sign of
Credibility and the "Mad Italians"17 Jan 2004 00:35 GMT17
Hi Simon,
He certainly does lack credibility. Not just here, but in the rest of
the Bates Community, too. I think you are new here, otherwise you would
know that he is just a megalomaniac, and really isn't interested in
Dry Eyes and Mucus build up16 Jan 2004 23:23 GMT2
I have always had a problem with mucus build up in the corner of my
eyes. My eyes always feel gritty or tired and I have gone to many eye
doctors and they can not really find anything wrong with my eyes and
feel I might have dry eyes. I have tried many of the over counter eye
Biomedics 55 (acualens 55)16 Jan 2004 19:04 GMT1
I have been wearing these CL's as extended wear (7-days) then throwing
them out.  I had a friend tell me that these lens' are not right for
this type of wear.  Is that the case?  If so, what kind should I get?
Explanation of some optical effects after cataract?16 Jan 2004 02:33 GMT15
I recently had cataract problems and surgery to correct for them. After the
surgery, I noticed some optical effects that I cannot completely explain. I
am pretty sure that both optics and eye anatomy are involved. Posting on
sci.med vision did not produce answers that gave me a ...
how to insert contacts with one hand (broken arm)?14 Jan 2004 21:35 GMT7
I have recently seriously broken my left arm.  It is effectively
immobilized for a few months or more.  I wear contacts
(soft/disposable) regularly but have now been unable to insert them
using one hand.  Any ideas?
exotropia  vision therapy for toddler13 Jan 2004 19:16 GMT14
Does anyone have information on vision therapy for a 2 1/2 year old
with intermittent exotropia ?  We consulted three doctors and two of
them told us that surgery was the only option.  We are about to go
with the third one for therapy.  I have heard of success stories for
What will stop screw coming loose from glasses?13 Jan 2004 18:19 GMT10
What do optometrists put into or onto the screws in spectacle frames to stop
them coming loose?
If it is a special product, is there a common household alternative that
will also do the job?
