PRK with wavefront31 Dec 2003 05:14 GMT4
I'm trying to find a surgeon that performs PRK with wavefront in or
near Delaware.  I've been using yahoo for the intial search but
even though the URL descriptors mention PRK they almost always
point to centers that perform LASIK exclusively.
Please explain a vision artifacts30 Dec 2003 21:56 GMT1
I have recently had a cataract removed and an intraocular lens implanted.
While waiting to be fitted with new glasses, I observe how my vision has
been affected.
For example, a single vertical line becomes multiple vertical lines. A
Some veins showing after RGPs30 Dec 2003 19:23 GMT6
I'm so far pretty satisfied with my RGPs (BOSTON EO) and are quite
comfortable with them except that I see some veins ( very slight, very
little ) show up when I have them on.
I only wear them occassionally  and I prefer to work ( programming )
Adivice on what to ask for30 Dec 2003 18:30 GMT3
I have presbyopia, and have been using PALs for many  years.
I've just got a new prescription which is very like the old one.  My specs
(or one lens) has become practically opaque, and my optometrist said it was
because the lens was a "polycarbonate" lens rather than a "plastic" one ...
torics vs. RGPs30 Dec 2003 13:32 GMT1
I've been wearing torics for about five years now.  Initially they
were good however after eye surgery the astigmatism in my right eye
shot up to 4.25 (2.25 in my left eye). The vision in my left eye is
usually quite good with them, but the vision in my right eye varies
Where To Go?30 Dec 2003 12:58 GMT1
Two months ago I had a vitrectomy, IOL implant, & Iris suture done to
correct damage suffered from a trauma 14 years ago.  At the time, the trauma
excluded the possibility of implanting the IOL due to it's nature.  My
vision was 20/400.  Exotropia was and still is an issue, to be ...

Computer screens and eye strain30 Dec 2003 00:01 GMT10
Hello group,
For a couple of years I have noticed problems with eye strain and blurring,
when I use my PC at work. I do not get eyestrain when I read printed text.
What can improve the situation?
magnets used for longevity?29 Dec 2003 22:49 GMT5
I was surfing on the net a week ago and I suddenly saw a pop up from a
site called Alex Chiu. Alex Chiu is the inventor of a magnetic curing
ring. The rings, with two magnets in it, are weared at night, because
laying down gives the best flew of blood. I read the testimonials and
Anything New (Lenses, etc.) Avail. These Days For Colorblindness ?29 Dec 2003 22:44 GMT1
Asked this question about a year or two ago, and thought
it might be a good time to see if anything new is available for my son.
He has color blindness, (red and green discrimination problems).
Was wondering if there are any new lenses, etc. that are now available.
Cornea Transplant29 Dec 2003 16:59 GMT2
What is  the usual sequence of events and inatervals of time between a
cornea transmplant and the attainment of satisfactory vision?
Acuvue2/Vistakon28 Dec 2003 22:30 GMT9
I have been wearing contacts for over 45 years (since Oct. 1958) and
of course have seen and endured many and varied marketing tricks
perpetrated by lens and solution manufacturers. Because of this, I am
always wary of the guidelines and instructions that come with or are
very near sighted, new high density lenses?28 Dec 2003 21:28 GMT2
I am -6.5 and and my old glasses had the high density lenses 1.67 I
think. There is a new 1.70 out but costs more. Should I give it a try
if my Doc has it and also is AR good for me too? I have a problem with
night driving and also on the computer a lot. Want to see the best I
huge fan of Ortho-k28 Dec 2003 06:51 GMT3
I have been on accelerated ortho-k for about 7 months now and have gone
from -1.75 in both eyes to slighty overcorrected in both eyes with 20/10
vision.
At first I had some ghosting in dim lights and halos but that has completely
General questions about astigmatism27 Dec 2003 18:54 GMT4
I've been surfing around for a while, but I couldn't quite find the answers
I'm looking for.  Maybe one (or several) of you can help me out.  My
situation is that I have a very mild prescription, mostly astigmatism with a
little nearsightedness.  When I first got my glasses about ...
