stapedotomy, stapedectomy -- what is the difference?  [also need doctor/procedure recommendations]28 Jan 2009 19:45 GMT2
Hi, my dad has had severe hearing loss in both ears for a long time.
He is unable to afford an operation and I want to help him.  A few
years ago he was recommended to have stapes surgery to restore hearing
after having his ears checked.  I don't know much about that, but I've
End Of My Rope - Pressure in my right ear23 Jan 2009 12:01 GMT3
I wrote to this group sometime earlier about a stroke greatly damaging
my right ear. My right ear has pressure in it and I cannot seem to make
doctors, ENT's or anyone else understand that if the PRESSURE is
relieved the tinnitus could subside a great deal.
Superior Semicircular Canal Dehiscence12 Jan 2009 12:35 GMT8
I've been diagnosed with a condition known as "Superior Semicircular Canal
Dehiscence". The only treatment seems to be fairly radical surgery involving
a craniotomy.  By all accounts I'd be one of first if not the first person
in the UK to undergo surgery for this condition - and ...
Hope for the newbies if you don't stick around here for too long...12 Jan 2009 12:00 GMT8
My own experiences suggest that the last thing the T newbies should do
is to stick around here with the old T patients and share their
stories that there is no cure for tinnitus and that the only way to
cope with it is to 'live with it'.  You may get to that level, mind
Of course there is hope for people with tinnitus10 Jan 2009 16:44 GMT8
Of course there is hope. I worked with a Dr. Greuel from Germany, who
wrote the book "Tinnitus is Curable." He is not kidding. He has
treated between 20 and 30 thousand patients with significant success.
You read that right, by now it's likely 30,000 patients or more. All
trouble getting to sleep10 Jan 2009 13:51 GMT3
Hi all - I don't post to often on this forum, but read others comments
regularly and find some comfort in the hints and tips given by other t
sufferers.  My worst time, without any doubt, is trying to get to
sleep at night when the T volume gets really loud, I read on this
HOPE!10 Jan 2009 13:48 GMT18
One thing you'll notice about this newsgroup, if you've visited it
over a period of years, like I have.
Is that you rarely see regulars. It's always a crop of newbies. The
reason for this is, most of us get over our tinnitus. Most of us get
Posterior Occipital Spasm Treatment?09 Jan 2009 01:15 GMT5
I'm thinking I may have this problem. What kind of prescription can I
get for it?
To All; Has anyone ever tried?08 Jan 2009 19:13 GMT4

You can download the book but I would like to hear from someone who
has already been there.
There are so many scamers out on the internet. Just curious as I would
Back in Hell07 Jan 2009 13:49 GMT29
The last few days have been a nightmare..
T up on high in my right ear and left was buzzing.
Dizzyness, could not stop vomiting or going toilet.
Headache and pain levels out of this world.
Any thoughts before my ENT appointment?06 Jan 2009 12:55 GMT5
I have an appointment set up with an ENT, but can't get in until the
second week of January.  I have a constant ringing in my left ear
after being struck in that ear by a drunken idiot a couple of weeks
ago.  The physical pain was minimal and is now gone.  I never lost
How Do Narcotics Work ?06 Jan 2009 12:54 GMT3
It seems like the Vicodin work good at night for me. I'm wondering if
anyone has had relief from Xanax or else Oxycontins? I've had tinnitus
for 5 months and I feel like it's related to depression anxiety but
I'm not sure. I saw ENT and everything was negative. I have been
Why are there so many arguments related to tinnitus?06 Jan 2009 12:43 GMT18
There have been many arguments in this ng as to whether this or that
works, whether T feels this or that way, etc..  In my own experience
and experiences with other T patients, there is a wide variation in
their experiencing T.  Some T come with only the sound but not the
Earaches and Tinnitus?05 Jan 2009 19:48 GMT4
How do you know if the earache is causing the tinnitus or the tinnitus
is causing the earache? I already saw an ENT who said there was
nothing wrong with my ears. Just wondering whether it could be a
tension headache in my ear causing the tinnitus.
