There have been a number of studies that have apparently shown some benefit to tinnitus patients of the herb Ginko Biloba. There is in fact a company marketing a preparation called Arches TInnitus Formula, containing Ginko as its primary active ingredient.

The problem with "cures" in my opinion, is that you can become dependant upon them and you can build up a tolerance, causing you to have to take more and more of whatever. That's what kept me from trying anything. Instead, I did nothing. Hard to become dependant

I am no doctor but it seems to me that if nerve cells can be fixed then maybe the hair cells that so many of us have damaged might be repaired or rebuilt as well. see the article at:
