Does fyfpoon have half a brain22 Oct 2007 12:00 GMT3
It may well be that "half a loaf is better than none", but can the
same be said about having half a brain?
Our garrulous resident numbskull, fyfpoon, is a case in point.  I
would be willing to wager than an MRI would disclose extensive voids
Tinnitus and electronic stores22 Oct 2007 02:52 GMT9
Has anyone's tinnitus developed from a single exposure to loud music
while visiting an electronic store (ie, CircuitCity, BestBuy, etc)?
Thanks.

Neuronomics20 Oct 2007 09:12 GMT3
I know of 2 places where neuromonics is offered.  They say it is FDA
approved and it sounds to me like the most effective method of treating
tinnitus.   Of course, it's $5000 US, so before I spend that kind of money,
it would be good to hear some unbiased opinions about this.  ...
What is tinnitus?19 Oct 2007 19:34 GMT1
Tinnitus to me is a symptom but not a cause of an illness.  So why do
all that statements suggest this or that treatment/med is effective/
ineffective for tinnitus?  If the statements were modified in such a
way as to suggest that this or that treatment/med is effective/
How recent is "today"?16 Oct 2007 08:27 GMT20
The following is a duplicate from Dr. Murray Grossan's writing.  One
wonders how recent is this "today"?

Conquering tinnitus14 Oct 2007 00:53 GMT17
If you have tinnitus and the doctor has told you there is no cause,
try this:
1. Don't read anything about tinnitus.  Including the idiotic posts on
this newsgroup.

Is a bottle of gingko necessarily less valuable than a 'thorough' high-tech examination?13 Oct 2007 16:54 GMT10
When my T was torturing me a few years ago, I went to see quite a few
specialists.  These are not the 'peasant' herb doctors but are high-
tech 'scientific-minded' people.
These were the results:

FLUNARIZINE HYDROCHLORIDE09 Oct 2007 01:29 GMT13
Anyone who is having trouble in sleep can talk to your doctor about
this one.  I was given this medicine by my ENT doctor when I felt
every night that someone was blowing a whistle at the middle of my
brain after mid-night.
In the face of conflicting views...09 Oct 2007 01:23 GMT3
In the face of conflicting views, the best  thing an audience can do
is to try out something that does not have IRREVERSIBLE CONSEQUENCES.
For example, if trying out ginko for 2 weeks produces no
'irreversible' consequences, then try it, never mind the volumes of
Limitations of randomised controlled trials09 Oct 2007 01:21 GMT27
Yea, for a while, people are talked into believing that controlled
trials tell the "truth of science".

Transforming the school of habituation into the school of treatments.07 Oct 2007 16:54 GMT49
In the year 2003 when I got tinnitus, I came to this ng.  This ng was
infested with habituation experts.  They were very impatient with
anyone who did not subscribe to the habituation philosophy.
4 years later today, with the relentless efforts of FP, this ng has
