I have had tinnitus for almost twenty years.  The first year was
pretty difficult, but I found an understanding audiologist and with
the help of a masker that she fitted for me, I was able to get back to
a normal life.  Since then, my tinnitus has flared up on occasions and

Ginkgo Biloba multiple studies: NOT a benefit for T28 Mar 2007 22:03 GMT6
I've taken Ginko  50mg/day for a year and have not noticed a benefit
to my T.  I take it for other reasons.  Well, thats the extent of my
anecdotal evidence concerning Ginkgo and T.
A little research may find a small study or two that seem to support
Tinnitus activated by high frequencies?28 Mar 2007 15:22 GMT3
I've always been very sensitive to high frequencies and have noticed a
ringing in my ears in the last few months (tinnitus).  It might be
caused or abetted by high frequencies emitted by my speakers and/or
monitor which emits a soft, high pitched whine from the back.  The
White Noise28 Mar 2007 02:43 GMT7
White noise has always been a thing for me, since a baby following the
vacuum around 'till now at age 60. When traveling I take a portable

Jaw Effect ? ...27 Mar 2007 19:07 GMT16
Mine is perhaps a bit worse on my left side and, on that side only, if
I move my jaw as far forward as possible, there is tremendous
loudenning while my jaw is positioned near fully forward. Anyone else
relate to this peculiarity, or other comments?
What does a tinnitus sound signify?27 Mar 2007 08:11 GMT4
To a western medical doctor or doctors trained up in the western
medical discipline, a t sound represents a sound which the inner ear
is 'not supposed' to hear.  That is at least what my several ENT
doctors in Hong Kong, China and Vancouver of Canada told me.  Thus the
Attend to your T quickly!25 Mar 2007 05:23 GMT6
I think it is EXTREMELY important for any newbie to attend to his or
her T quickly as soon as it is detected.
>From  the 15 doctors I went to see at that time I had my T, a message
seems clear: if the T is treated quickly, preferrably within 2 weeks
Waking up From Sleep23 Mar 2007 16:22 GMT19
I'm curious if others experience the breif escape of the ringing as I
seem to have when I first wake up in the morining. The first couple
minutes after waking up I dont hear the constant ringing. I dont know
if its really gone or if its just that my brain isnt fully awake.
Noisy newbie here23 Mar 2007 16:05 GMT26
Well, I'm glad I found this NG. There's no better source of practical
answers than from those who've been there.
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Mark Mossberg, I live in the

bruxism23 Mar 2007 03:45 GMT9
Is there a relationship between bruxism and tinnitus? Healthwise, I
have been cleared of everything else...had MRI, blood test, hearing
test done...all normal. I have worn my teeth down quite a bit by
grinding at night. Would an x-ray of my mouth be able to diagnose
Please help to decipher MRI22 Mar 2007 01:17 GMT3
I've been battling a crapload of doctors, all of whom seem to be all
too willing to write me off as a hypochondriac with anxiety problems.
To make the long story short, I started getting red and watery left
eye in October. In November, the area around my eye started to hurt a
Followup Tinnitus questions21 Mar 2007 03:38 GMT20
Ok ladies and gentlemen,,,,my Tinnitus has officially pushed me over
the edge. So to calm myself and to try to actually start sleeping some
simple questions I hope someone can answer. My last thread strayed off

I have a wet-dry canister vacuum that was way too loud.  I built a sound
