Interesting visit...13 Sep 2005 04:12 GMT2
Went to the ENT today... second appointment.  Went back in April for the
first appointment, and the first hearing test (which was excellent, btw,
always part of my perfectionistic streak I suppose *grin*).  So I tell
him about the increased noise, same frequency/pitch, ...
My visit to the ENT13 Sep 2005 03:46 GMT10
Just a post for the sake of posting, but I finally got to see an ENT
for the first time since realizing I had a high pitched T and posting
to this group. I'm not sure if I am disappointed or relived by what
transpired. I was in and out pretty quickly, but during my time there I
Currious12 Sep 2005 04:15 GMT36
I come here and troll around a bit reading about what people are doing
to rid themselves of tinnitus...I'm actually somewhat weary about
trying to rid myself of mine.
Have any of you who are trying to get rid of it have had it for your
Question11 Sep 2005 04:30 GMT7
I found you all quite by accident.  My husband has tinnitus but has not gone
to a doctor.  He doesn't complain much unless the bird gets noisy, then he
will cover the bird and say the bird is going to drive him deaf.  Or you
don't have to listen to the noise I have to hear in my ...
Tinnitus and Sin09 Sep 2005 09:29 GMT27
This newsgroup has been passed on to me by a colleague-in-christ for my
urgent attention.
You know friends, those of you who suffer from the grave affliction of
tinnitus must have grievously sinned for this affliction to have been
Why have the ENT doctors not mentioned the impaired 8th cranial nerve being a possible cause of tinnitus?05 Sep 2005 21:34 GMT33
There is no shortage of liternature that talks about this 8th cranial
nerve being a place where the cause of tinnitus can be found:

However, I don't seem to have run into any talk ...
My story05 Sep 2005 02:54 GMT12
I'm not sure where to begin...
In July of 04, my uncle moved in with us when he was diagnosed with lung
cancer.  It was a very stressful time.  I changed jobs, we had to move
my mom and him into a new apartment, and he passed away in January.  In
Tinnitus, As I've Known It04 Sep 2005 21:53 GMT3
For as long as I can remember, my ears have been ringing.  I first
became aware of it when I was still in the first half of single-digit
age.  We were supposed to go hiking with some family friends -- their
daughter was my age.  They cancelled the trip because the girl had an
why not "make tinnitus history" ?!03 Sep 2005 22:07 GMT5
as so many of todays rock stars/musicians seem to be afflicted with
T...Bono, Phil collins, pete townshend, etc...why arent they coughing
up the millions for vital research...surely they owe it to us...after
all they are probably responsible for the vast majority of tinnitus
tinnitus and tourette's syndrome03 Sep 2005 21:25 GMT1
Does anyone have any information about connection between tinnitus and
tourette's?  How about long term user of Prozac and/or Neurontin??

driving me nuts. I also have wenkebach and hear its distinctive rhythm also.

About the sin thing02 Sep 2005 00:07 GMT21
I remember at the support group some people were concerned about
tinnitus being some kind of devine punishment. I did a fair bit of
checking around back then and I did not hear of any maintream religions
where this was a possibility or even an issue. Just in case you are
Tinnitus Clinic visit02 Sep 2005 00:05 GMT8
I went to audiology at my local hospital for a tinnitus assessment this
morning - at 9 am!   Mind, going that early meant I didn't have to wait at
all as I was the first customer :)    A nice amenable young bloke went
through my tinnitus experiences with me - when it started, what ...
