Desperate !29 Jul 2005 04:12 GMT40
Ive suffered from tinnitus for many years ( im 32) and odd episodes of
dizziness too ( for months on end at times). i have to say that i blame

Tinnitus is a mental ill27 Jul 2005 18:05 GMT6
Lately in alt, there has surfaced a generation of t desperadoes.  From
what I have read and observed, the cause of their t seems to be closely
related to their nerve.
Once the nerve is wounded, it is hard to recover.  However, aside from
My tinnitus cannot stand headphones...what options for treatment?26 Jul 2005 16:32 GMT5
I believe I got mine from a ear infection since it happened right after
my ears felt like hell for a day, and it only affects my right
ear....anyway...
whenever I wear headphones and use them, it gets permantantly worse!
San Diego area, need Professional help fairly rapidly24 Jul 2005 22:57 GMT9
I'm writing this because I'm getting pretty close to destitute and
need some help. I have no medical insurance due to the loss of my job
some time back (a job loss due to, believe it or not, a bite from a
black widow spider: this has *not* been my year). Because of my medical

Passing thru high pitched sounds?24 Jul 2005 17:42 GMT5
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this.  I suspect I might
be a candidate for Tinnitus, although I don't think I have symptoms.
But I was a headphone-wearing D.J. for a few years.  Here's an
experience I've had occasionally:
How can I clear this ear?! ( Also seeking pro bono otolaryngologist)24 Jul 2005 02:32 GMT13
This is particularly bothersome because I'm out of work, need to
interview for jobs, but can't because my hearing is so impaired.
Had a history of left ear infections. Usually wound up taking an
antibiotic which - along with some pretty good yawns - cleared
The American Medical System23 Jul 2005 18:24 GMT5
When in an affluent society like that of America, we have a patient
named Christopher, out of desperation, is crying out for help in this
group because he does not have medical insurance, one could imagine
what kind of foul-up the US medical system is facing.
Napping and nerve recovery23 Jul 2005 16:04 GMT3
I am taking my holiday here in BC.  During this time, I have the
opportunity of drinking a lot of good quality coffee that keeps me
awake.  I have discovered that avoiding napping seems to be a good way
to improve on my tinnitus.  I recalled what my ENT doctor once told me
seashell syndrome22 Jul 2005 04:43 GMT1
Probably a stupid question that I once knew the answer to but seem to
have forgotten:  what causes the hissing sensation  in the ear when one
presses a seashell to it?
Thanks - John

My doctor put me on Celexa which is a mild SSRI. It helped with my Tinnitus
and, also, it helped me sleep. Further, Celexa  has lesser side affects then
Zoloft and Prozac and the other more popular SSRI 's.

Then and now (kinda long)21 Jul 2005 18:36 GMT7
I was driving home last night from a dance I'd been invited to play
at. Merrily cruising along on the highway, windows open, stereo on,
and I got to thinking - what a different world now then compared to
the way it was about six years ago.
