I am sorry "habituation" seems to annoy me, nearly as much as the T!  It can
be jolly aggravating to be constantly told on here that I *must* put up with
something by pretending it isn't there, when it is, or somehow having to get
used to the racket, when I don't want to get used to ...
What causes a sudden increase?27 May 2005 18:10 GMT29

Truth hurts!24 May 2005 15:40 GMT11
Days ago, I requested the medical professionals in ast to take the
lead, and come up with posts that could make this ng more
intellectually stimulating.  I did not expect my call drew a volley of
criticism from so many participants.  I would imagine that many people
Ear syringe and tinnitus - link?21 May 2005 13:17 GMT14
My doctor is very reluctant to syringe my ears regularly (they need doing
every few months) because of a suspected link with tinnitus.  Regular
syringeing, he says, is suspected of causing tinnitus.
Has anyone heard this before, please?  Or do any present tinnitus
Writing about tinnitus18 May 2005 20:47 GMT11
I am a playwright who is writing about tinnitus.  I have read much so
far in my research about Dr. Shemesh and particularly Dr. Nagler.
Clearly their is a lot of hate for this man.  Can anyone fill me in on
any part of the story?  Also, I would appreciate corresponding with any
Avoid being dogmatic!18 May 2005 18:08 GMT10
The following is my experience and it can be the experience of *some*
of you.  Thus I suggest the 'habituation' school folks should try at
all possible to avoid being dogmatic.
Some people have multiple causes of their discomfort.  It took me more
This is tinnitus hell18 May 2005 01:31 GMT3
The hearing in my right ear was lost to a virus in 1991. I have the ringing
and high pitched whine. I was able to handle it until I had a sinus
infection in early April 2005. Now the noise has increased dramatically. I
belong to a southern California hmo. I went to five doctors ...

Habituate17 May 2005 01:12 GMT14
I read in another post Susan said : "The reality is that once folks
habituate T, they
don't notice it unless they try to.  Even folks with awful, intrusive,
loud and variable T."

Can the doctors come up with more fresh posts?16 May 2005 02:32 GMT28
Most of the new threads in this group are started by t patients.  It is
like a class in which there are students and no teachers.  I would like
to see some from doctors or specialists.  After all, the latter are
supposed to help people but not to drive their Porche or watch TV in
Thank you Elly!14 May 2005 03:30 GMT18
My T started in April of '05. Like most people, I became greatly
distressed over it and thus began to do a lot of intensive research.
The information provided by you Elly, proved to be the most valuable to
me.
