Question about benzalkonium chloride in a non-spray nasal gel31 Oct 2008 20:37 GMT9
I use a preservative free saline spray during the day, but when I
sleep I like to put something a little thicker in my nose with a Q-
tip. (I was using Vaseline, but I read that the petroleum can build up
in the lungs).
taking a break31 Oct 2008 18:31 GMT19
As a long time group member (august.western@various ISPs) I thought
I’d give notice that I’ll be taking a break from the group due to a
significant relapse in my 10+ yr on-going battle with various
cancers.

swollen glands. I don't see any white spots but i don't have a
flashlight either. I have some sinus fullness feeling, but oddly no
pain. I'm still irrigating, taking my zyrtec, sudafed 12hr nasonex.
On vacation and think i'm getting sick!27 Oct 2008 20:18 GMT2

till i get home tomorrow and go to a place where i know they will give

Here we go again.....20 Oct 2008 23:50 GMT2
Well fall has really begun in Delaware and I am having trouble waking
up and sleeping due to my sinuses.  My head feels like weight of a
bowling ball, my sinuses are all dry and I am really tired, not really
coherent and grouchy.
Post FESS 3 week follow up visit13 Oct 2008 23:57 GMT15
Had a good visit with my ENT today, all my sinuses looked great to him,
the left side of my nose has some scar tissue that he's going to snip
next time if it doesn't resolve.  That's what's causing a sensation of
Did I read this on here ?13 Oct 2008 21:57 GMT35
Does anyone remember posting or reading a thread regarding a Doctor who said
something like " In many cases I listen to the patient if the ct scan is
inconclusive" .
Don't quote me word for word but that was the jist of it.

alzheimer's, sense of smell, sinusitis11 Oct 2008 20:54 GMT1
Someone posted earlier about the link between loss of smell and
alzheimer's disease.  Is there a distinction between loss of smell due
to structural problems - inflamed nasal passages, and loss of the
recognition of smell?  Are we at increased risk of Alzheimer's
Sinus Steeping with Xylitol and N-Acetyl Cysteine09 Oct 2008 22:10 GMT2
I have posted previously about 'sinus steeping' with xylitol and how
the xylitol prevents bacterial adhesion.  I tried adding about 0.4 ml
of N-acetyl cysteine to 12 oz. of xylitol sol'n  to act as a mucolytic
and it is far superior than just xylitol and water.  I did experiments

For Susan:  I was right about my kidneys01 Oct 2008 21:57 GMT21
I just got back from my nephrologist where we reviewed the results of my
renal ultrasound.  My kidneys are about 90% destroyed (though one is a
bit better off than the other).
The cause:  "obstructive uropathy" from an enlarged bladder, which in
