Once again, the Cochrane collaborative, by looking at other studies, concluded that the National Asthma guidelines for dust mite removal/ reduction are useless. Here's an internet article on it: http://www.healthcentral.com/allergy/news-249790-31.html

| Chronic Sinus infection | 23 Apr 2008 17:26 GMT | 17 |
I've been dealing with a chronic sinus infection for about 6 months now. I've been on all sorts of antibiotics including Augmentin, Amoxicillin, Cipro, Levoquin, Tetracycline and nothing is getting rid of it! I've even tried a Neti pot, but it really irritated my sinuses after using

I have a lot of mucus flow in the morning. It is both post nasal drip and runny nose. One of the problems is that I get a lot of mucus in my throat and this makes me gag. When I try to run in the morning, it is even worse. I have tried gargling with salt water in the morning

OK-- another damn sinus infection. Interestingly, it started about 4 days after I came off a 4-week course of cipro due to an unrelated problem. But the weather has been changing here and that is often when the sinus problems occur.

| Hookworms, anemia, autoimmunity and the HIF-1/EPO/cathelicidin pathway induced by iron deficiency | 17 Apr 2008 06:40 GMT | 1 |
Recently published research shows that hyrdoxylase inhibitors have gastroprotective properties through the induction of HIF-1a, thus making them a potential medication for leaky gut problems [PMID 18166353, 18166352]. Low iron conditions and iron chelators like EGCG also

| Acid Reflux/Sinusitis: Chicken or the egg? | 16 Apr 2008 20:46 GMT | 5 |
I've seen this discussion here quite a few times and I'm wondering if we've come any closer to understanding the relationship between these two diseases. I'm leaning towards believing that acid reflux is causing my sinus problems.

| can orthodontic work damage sinuses | 15 Apr 2008 02:17 GMT | 1 |
I posted this to the dentistry group before I realized that I should have cross-posted here as well. I apologize for the oversight. I had braces as an adult to bring in two impacted canine teeth. Before the orthodontia I had colds each year that sometimes led to sinus
